Hello!
If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....
maryland full time nursing student.
VP of my local student nurses association
1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance
GPA 3.44
EFC 0000
4 years of community service in underserved communities
The CNL is actually a different role of nursing than the CNS. It is not even mentioned in the guideline handbook, which makes me nervous! Thank you for your response though! I have read through this entire thread getting information on the scholarship process and it has been immensely helpful.
Not sure JM, I'm in an accelerated RN program so we go through the summer. I'm guessing it would go through the summer because you still have to complete the full two years in an underserved area.
Question:
Does anyone know if you can apply and receive the same scholarship for the MSN program after completing the mandatory two years of course? Not sure if anyone has asked this question before!
So does anyone know if we aren't enrolled for summer semester does the stipend stop? Or is it continuous until graduation?

yes I called and asked the same question and once you serve your commitment you are eligible to do that!
They way I read it is that MSN level Nurse Practitioners are 1rst level tier. Which of course means as a mid level provider. I am not sure if CNL is the same role? I think they do this to differentiate between DNP's and MSN level NP's. Also, more providers are need in undeserved communities so NPs make sense as 1rst tier. I could be wrong though, you can call though. I hope that helps!

I applied this cycle and wanted to ask those who were successful last year: how was your resume formatted? Did you have a few bullet points for each experience or did you write a short paragraph? Also, how many pages was your entire resume document? I have always been advised to keep my resume to 1 page, but now I'm wondering if I formatted it incorrectly for this application and if I should have been more descriptive. Thanks!
I was just looking over my submitted application. All of my supporting documents say received, but if you click on my letter in good standing it does not download and I get an error message. Will that disqualify me? Oh dear, I am freaking out. I swear they all uploaded correctly. Why would it say received if the file was not properly attached. Oh I hope they will let me submit it again if they don't get it. Did anyone have issues with the site?

I know you were asking someone else, but you will be paid for your 2 years. Nurse corps does not pay you, the HPSA eligible facility you end up working for is the facility that pays you. All nurse corps wants is to make sure that you are practicing in a medically under-served area.
