I was discharged from my job because IDPH says I come to work drunk and beat up on residents...Well I'm not a drinker and I dont beat up on old people...in fact the resident they say I did something to gave me a hug when I came in the door before I found out I was fired now what is that?
I get so tired of working in nursing homes and I'm really tired of it now! Many of the other colleagues stated "that is ridiculous" I wonder if I could take the administrator and IDPH to court for lying and defamation
character can anyone give me advice or know a lawyer??
Isn't that stupid I worked there a year never miss adays work and always good to the residents and family members even they say that was not right...

Lawyer up, they will probably report you to the BON, you need representation, NOW.

Hey who or what is BON and do you think I have a case?
I really dont want to start any trouble just want another job...I dont like to fight I am a loving person..............I'm just not very happy at the fact that this administrator would do this after all I've done for him and the company..stayed third shift without OT and always worked short and working with mostly school kids...that just doesnt work...I think I worked for a bad company need to get away..........

You don't seem to understand, IF your employers fired you for suspicion of coming to work under the influence and beating up a patient, THEY WILL report you to the BON, you will be in jepardy of LOSING your license, OR worse.
Are you a nurse in the USA?
no they couldn't do that because they have no proof and because everyone i work with knows i dont drink and they also know that the cna who called public health and has it in for me persuaded these people to believe her..she leaves the facility without clocking out and i go to look for her and shes gone and so are the other ones ..i had nothing but school kids working there all i did was babysit ....i should of quit a long time ago but just got tired of having to look for another job...these people are liars but what can you do..its the good people that feel the heat not the bad ones....they werent giving showers like they told me i would go back and check and the res. hair wasnt even wet...these kids are good...all the nurses in the building are looking and leaving...but this company pays only .59cents over minimum wage so these are all the help they could get...this is just a bad company to work for and every one is finding out...............

You need to get a good lawyer & fight those accusations because like ingelein said they could report you to BON- Board of Nursing & you could lose you license all together. It's not right & if I was in your position I would get a lawyer & fight those accusations make them show proof-which like you said they do not have because without proof they shoould be the ones to get into trouble for lying not you. I hope everything works out for you, keep us posted.

i have to repeat the question; are you a nurse? if you are, or even a cna, it is way beyond wanting to avoid trouble...this is your bread and butter, your earnings, your way of life. if they report it to the board of nursing (and they can do this to a cna as well), then, you will not be able to get another job if you are discovered to be guilty. do not be in denial of this.
