Hi Everyone,
I'm starting school at WGU in August 2015. My aim is to finish my MSN in leadership in 6 months (I know that I would have to go at a pretty fast pace, but I'm a very determined person).
I have read in one of the post that someone completed it in 7.5 months, and she gave a really wonderful advice on her page.
The one thing that she said is to try working on the capstone right away because it takes about 6 months to complete.
I would like to know how to know to start the capstone- And whats its all about so I can get a head start.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks advance.

Hello, there. Your thread has been moved to the WGU forum with the goal of stimulating responses from current and former students of WGU's MSN program.

For the capstone you are required to identify a quality improvement project at your place of employment. Conduct a literature review of current evidence and research on the topic, implement the quality improvement, then measure the outcome.

Ugh. Not looking forward to that.
Wonderful, thank you. For some reason I thought that this was about doing certain number of hours in a clinical setting. I don't see why this type of research would take 6 months.
Do you currently go to WGU? Hows the process for you?
Depending on what you choose to do, it shouldn't take more than a couple months, and you can work on other classes while you're doing data collection. They revamped their MSN program/capstone about 6-12 months ago. The previous capstone would take an entire 6-month semester to complete (requires applying to an IRB, as well as designing and conducting a study).

That sound even better. I'm 100 percent dedicated, and I'm sure I'll be able to do this now.
Thank you so much for clarifying for me Klone.
Yep! So far I like it a lot.

Id love to follow your progress. Did you have a BSN to start?
Hi. Yes I do, I got it from Colorado Technical University Online.
Are you in Colorado?
