Nursing Capstone at WGU

Updated:   Published

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting school at WGU in August 2015. My aim is to finish my MSN in leadership in 6 months (I know that I would have to go at a pretty fast pace, but I'm a very determined person).

I have read in one of the post that someone completed it in 7.5 months, and she gave a really wonderful advice on her page.

The one thing that she said is to try working on the capstone right away because it takes about 6 months to complete.

I would like to know how to know to start the capstone- And whats its all about so I can get a head start.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks advance.

sain, RN

I am curious how long it took you to complete your MSN thru WGU? I just finished my BSN thru WGU in 4 months and I am trying to decide if I should go on for MSN, however I would like to complete the MSN as quickly as possible. Any information or advice you have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi there,

Im starting the MSN program on Nov 1st.

Can you tell me more about the Capstone project?

And what is an IRB?

What can I do to get a head start?

Thanks so much!

Congrats to you, I picked that program too one because nursing is the nation's largest health care profession, with more than 3.1 million registered nurses nationwide. Of all licensed RNs, 2.6 million or 84.8% are employed in nursing so you will not have to bother your head with questions like - What should I do with my degree?

Though often working collaboratively, nursing does not "assist" medicine or other fields. Nursing operates independent of, not auxiliary to, medicine and other disciplines. Nurses' roles range from direct patient care and case management to establishing nursing practice standards, developing quality assurance procedures, and directing complex nursing care systems.

My friend said once that it is relatively easy to get a degree in nursing, and even if you worry about the difficult student life, dissertation or a research project there's even a wider field for the prompts, you are free to take info for your projects from sites like this one, evidence‐based guidelines, letters.
