And, the Holidays are not over yet. How on earth do Nurses do it? How do they juggle their personal and professional lives? When do you find time to shop, cook, clean, decorate, interact with all the relatives, AND hold down your Nursing job ... heck, when do you SLEEP? I raise my champagne glass to you, oh NURSE extraordinaire ... you are to be commended on a job well done.

amazon Prime - a man's best friend :D

Sigh...I love Amazon Prime. Sometimes a little too much.

I just ask that everyone NOT try to sign their names in the dust. LOL!

Exactly! :)

We got through another year in one piece! This is the first year in a long time that for whatever reason none of the kids had an in-law they had to see and nobody was scheduled to work so we actually had Christmas on Christmas. Gotta say it was nice to not have to work around everyone's schedule to get together.

On the will this season never end side, I probably have enough Christmas movies on my DVR to get me through at least Memorial Day, maybe even 4th of July if I pace myself.

I really appreciate all the Nurses I have worked with over the last 3 decades. I retired a couple of years ago after receiving a diagnoses of Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and being unable to walk with out a walker. The care I received as a patient and the support I received from my friends from work was amazing. Every new Year I think back on the wonderful people I worked with at the hospital.Thank all of you

Amazon Prime and Zappos.

Everything went in gifts bags.

Tree, stockings, live fund raiser wreath and large poinsettia covers the decorations.

Simple menus.

Gratitude for a steady job*, I've never had to worry about affording the Christmas basics.

I've been getting the major holidays off for some time now, it's a trade off for working in a nursing field many find unthinkable.

*My parents came from the depression era, my dad worked harder and longer hours for much less money than I ever have.

My late husband used to write special dates in the dust like my birthday, our anniversary, etc. It was annoying, but cute.

No holiday stress here. I've been off since 12/24 through next week. All paid time off and this does not cut into vacation or personal time. Nope, not a nursing job.

Specializes in Nephrology, Dialysis, Plasmapheresis.

Amazon prime saved me too! The only thing I had to go out and buy was wrapping paper and our live tree.

We decorated the first weekend in December, nothing too excessive. Tree, wreath, lights around our porch.

One night after work I made candied pecans for neighbors and friends, they keep well.

My husband does all the grocery shopping and even cooked Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner. Other then that we did snacks and went out for lunch with the in laws a few days.

Also, I clean a little each day so it's never out of hand.

The key is to start in November and shop online.. I work two jobs and had a great, non stressful holiday.

I love Christmas! oops, the holidays. Getting together with family, getting stuffed, lots of red wine with my turkey. And wishing everyone

MERRY Christmas, including my fellow foreigners, who ironically wish ME and my family Merry Christmas. Just because we have more foreigners coming from Asia, Middle Eastern, and South America, does not mean we have to change our greeting. ITs our corporate & politicians that tell us.

If you look at history, 100 years ago, there was a great influx of foreigners bringing over your history and culture, and no changes were made in our greeting. So fellow nurses, no matter what level..Happy New Year.

Red wine with the bird? I must try this next time I have turkey, we've always done white. Any suggestions for a red that goes with bird?
