Nurse License Revocation

Nurses General Nursing

Hello,

My CA LVN license was revoked early this year. I am also a RN graduate, will I be allowed to take the RN NCLEX? I am just worried because I am scared that my nursing career has ended forever.

I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my nursing license back. Please help.

Look at CA BON's reporting policies for license revocation. I am willing to bet that if you really wanted to pursue your nursing career, you could get away with it in another state, or another country if it came down to it.

Before jumping the gun on anything, consult a lawyer familiar with these types of cases.

Why was it revoked?

If ine states BON revokes a license, then ALL the remaining states will see this when background checking. The background check company will search for previous licenses and find it. It will fair much worse for OP to be found as a liar then to tell the truth.

OP, your best bet will be to resolve the issue with your LVN license if possible. While the BON is not a nurses friend, they also don't revoke licenses without a serious offense. Whatever caused your license to be revoked will almost assuredly keep you from being able to get licensed in any state.

Why hey would my country want American nurses with questionable practices??

A question will be asked even if going to another country on whether there are or have been issues with license and there will be serious consequences if caught lying

OP: only the CA BRN can accurately answer your question. Call/email them and ask.

Best of luck

Consult a lawyer also, who is familiar with these types of cases. I hope that whatever led to the revoking of your LPN license has been corrected. Best to you.

A revocation can and should be difficult to overcome. If you are determined to proceed with a career in nursing you really should find a lawyer to help you navigate the process. I won't lie to you though, even with a good lawyer it will be difficult.

Best of luck is right, to anyone trying to raise CA BRN from the dead. Unfortunately, an attorney is going to be a necessary evil.

Write their NCLEX and answer "no" to having a previous license.

Only thing the Canadians share with us is criminal records. Other records aren't shared or looked at in background checks. As I said earlier, if OP got his or her BSN in a different state than the one where the license was revoked, OP will have no problem getting a license up there because the only state that could be checked up on isn't the right one.

You seriously make no sense with your ridiculous suggestions to the OP. Each state most certainly can see the license status of an applicant from out of state. Heck, with a full name I can look up anyone's license status as its all public record.

As for going to other countries to practice, I have never attempted that and couldn't tell you what all goes into the background check process. I just find it very hard to believe that other countries flat out cannot see license status of applicants from the states. A nurse could cause serious patient harm and lose their license then travel out of the country and continue to cause patient harm if you suggestion is true. I doubt it's that easy.

Regarding other countries seeing license status, as long as they have internet and the knowledge of how to locate license statuses, yes. I am currently overseas and have no doubt that the organization where I am teaching has had someone double check my credentials.....

Never assume that other countries aren't going to check you out.

Is anyone else troubled that one of the other posters is encouraging the OP to be dishonest? Do they not realize that the penalty for falsifying records/lying could be a lot worse than truthfulness?
