2020 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hey people! I've been interested in the HRSA Nurse Corps Loan repayment program for several years, just never took the time to apply. I am full-time nurse faculty in an BSN program. For those who have applied before:

1. When does the cycle usually open? ( I have signed up for updates)

2. How do you calculate your DTI? (This is all new to me?)

Thanks for your responses. Hopefully we can kick some student loan debt in the butt!! I'm excited and haven't even applied yet! Blessings to you all!

Anyone have any updates??

Specializes in ER/ICU RN.

Noooooooo updates. Still says Under Review. Just one credit check and no re-verification of employment.

Nurse Corps LRP first time applicant, NP - Tier 1 (DTI ~250%, site score 16)

Credit check 7/17, my manager/POC got an email from HRSA verifying my salary on 7/27

That’s awesome! Way to go! Are you able to see on your application status that another EV was sent?? I was just wondering if that “Initiation Date” changes And could be looking out for something! I’m afraid my employer may miss the email if not expecting it ?

I received credit check on 7/17 as well but nothing since! First time applicant. DTI 230%, Tier 1, Score 17.

Specializes in Hematology.

My application still has the same EV date (from February). My POC got an email from a HRSA employee stating:

"My name is xxxx and I am a Team Lead for the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program.

I am reaching out to you because you completed an employment verification for xxxxx and you entered $xxxxxx as her annual salary amount. I need to know if the salary you entered is accurate. We will not be able to move forward with her application until you have verified the salary amount."

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing??

Specializes in Women's Health NP.

That makes me nervous since my point of contact is not the greatest about replying to emails in a timely fashion.

WHNP at an FQHC with a score of 21.

Credit check on 5/12/2020 although I'm not sure if this is for the NHSC LRP or the Nurse Corps LRP. There was only one credit check done.

No other movement on my application. Still says "under review". I'm afraid that probably means I won't be selected again this year. :(

Received a credit karma notification of a hard inquiry made on 8/10; however, I'm unsure of where to look on the site to see what the inquiry was. I haven't applied for anything lately...

I should probably mention that I applied for the NHSC Scholarship Program. Couldn't find a thread for those specific applicants, unless I just didn't look hard enough LOL.

Hi, Just wondering if we will get a “rejection” email if we don’t get chosen? Thanks!

Do you know how long it could take to receive the co-signature to finalize award?? I tried to look back through past threads but it is so many pages!

@tianova yes, they will send an email if you are not selected. But it won't be until late September.

@amiles0008 I've seen anywhere from 3.5-6 weeks looking at previous years' threads. Tomorrow makes 4 weeks for me. Fingerscrossed that I get cosigned this week!
