Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?
I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.
thanks!! best of luck!!
Kristou, of course, maybe we could start another thread like i had stated with the Winter class.... so I and others can post as we move along the program... I work for the system so I already can tell you that of course every employer has their quirks and missions but I honestly have to say how blessed i am to be at Baptist Health... its amazing, the support, the flexibiloty, of course its all in your unit as well and who your boss is, but that goes anywhere.... but baptist really does want you to flourish and grow within the baptist community... i love it and i cant wait to give back to them what they have already started to give me...
Also, another thing to keep in mind is your essay to Baptist, they look at that as a basis of character.... they just look at everything and honestly for them GPA is up there but not like NOVA thats why the have the interview.. you could be a brain but have no hands on skills or communication skills. etc First impressions last forever! I am waiting to receive my packet i know i have to sign on with them for 3 years since its a BSN then i will be signing on again for my Masters another 2 years. However, this is where i want to be... baptist is growing more than ever and is highly competitive and i am fortunate to be part of that.. and I hope you will as well.
Like i said, we could keep in contact and i cant start a thread so you can see the progress or whatnot... let me know if you need anything else and thank you i need all the luck i can get
congrats to everyone whos gotten accepted...gotten their scholarships..and is well on their way to becoming a nurse...unfortunately I had to defer my application and I have yet to hear anything...this BLOWS i had like a mini breakdown yesterday about it...I'm really hoping i receive my acceptance soon..otherwise all this waiting would have totally not been worth it..
Hey kristou, I like your way of thinking and planning about Nova and Baptist. I wish you the best and hope everything clicks in place for you. Make sure to do good on that last pre-req to keep that gpa up and you should maybe look into volunteering at Baptist if you want so you can put it on your resume. Plus it will be pretty cool to become more familiar with your future hospital and maybe get to know others there .
Goodluck!!
And props on finding that info about memorial hospital, very helpful for everyone... I know I would definitely be looking into it as 2nd option to help financially and to know I will have a set job after, not bad at all. :)
Hey lindalove!!
I had to do the same thing and defer my application. I still haven't heard anything either. Did you ever receive an email about deferring your application or did you call? Because I never got the email, I went ahead and called and they said that they would put my name on the list. I'm hoping that whoever put my name on the list submitted it cause if not I'm waiting for no reason at all.
hey cristi I received the email and i deferred via the link in the email. I HOPE their system is fool proof...but I'm going to email the admissions counselor either way and send a "friendly" reminder to make sure my application was deferred. I applied in February..it is now July...so I would really like to know my fate with NOVA a.s.a.p..best wishes to you
I clicked on my email link to defer to winter but something told me to call and make sure, so I did and it turned out I wasn't deferred yet even though I had clicked it 4 days prior on the email. Anyway name edited by moderator deferred me over the phone so please call to make sure you were actually deferred!!
