NSU EntryBSN Program Fall 2010

Published

Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

thanks!! best of luck!!:p

Believe it or not this might work out better for us. Although we are goin. To have mounting debts, we will be free to work anywhere once we graduate. I know that there is a hiring freeze right now, it will be lifted by the time we graduate. Lucky for us we just got one of the greatest NBA player to sign with our team. There will be alot of revenue generated from that and I truley believe that will cause an increase in the states budget in the upcomming years. Also, the health care bill will get more improved and more funding in the future. So, the future is very bright. Yeah it would be a great opportunity but not being selected by now means that we are doomed. So, stay positive, everything will work out for the best.

thats true, i am a true believer on everything happens for a reason. we get obstacles and dissapointments to appreciate the good outcomes. i had a tough time getting into nursing school as i believe we all did, knowing all the dissaponintments i went at the end made getting accepted so much better :yeah:

again, congrats to all those that got into nova and baptist. our journey and problems are just beginning :D

woohoo class of 2012!!!!!

I am right there with you guys, i did not get the Baptist Scholarship either. I thought i did well on the interview but i was very nervous and i guess it showed. I am also terrified of public speaking (lol). This is a time when we just have to learn, grow and move on. My commute will be long but very worth it, knowing how lucky i am to have such a great opportunity.

when one door closes, a new one opens. Lets plan to meet at orientation! good luck to all of you. :nurse:

hello ladies, i am so disappointed to hear that you were not chosen for the scholarship :sniff:

its ok though you are in a nursing school which starts in a couple of weeks and we will all be there together.... i wish you were in with me so we can be in it together, but when you look at it we still are! baptist or not we are still sharks! i am sure there are other scholarships out there and that nova will help the best they can with loans or whatnot..... everything happens for a reason and this does not mean you were not good enough or something there were just up against a lot of competition.... they interviewed a lot out there....and they only take 40, so imagine.... we can do it, far apart or not we can still study and meet at orientation!!! keep your spirits up....

Hi guys,

to those who have not been accepted for the Baptist scholarship, Memorial hospital has a scholarship that they offer of about $16,000 a year, and you have to work for them for two years. You can look into it if you are interested.

Good luck.

here is the link the scholarship page.

http://www.mhs.net/employment/employmentscholarships.aspx

also i thought that the information below might be helpful. by the way, the scholarship is 12,000 not 16,000 for the two years not each year. sorry. you will have to work for them for 2 years. i hope that helps.

if you are interested in being part of our nursing team, you may want to explore our scholarship program. memorial healthcare system, through the scholarship fund, will provide successful bsn scholarship students $6,000 toward the completion of a bachelor of science degree at an accredited college/university in the state of florida for a one-year work commitment after graduation and licensure, or $12,000 for a two-year work commitment.

Can anyone please help me I am currently enrolled at MDC and have one more semester left. I plan on applying for the fall does anyone know when applications start getting accepted?

Thanks Kristou I am very intrested!!!!!

Kristou, KUDOS!!! You have shed some light to those who have gotten denied at Baptist i think thats great!! I hope you can guys can make it, i think you can... POSITIVE is always the key to success... i hope you all make it i really do...

R.G.A. if you are in your last semester of pre-req's then send in your application ASAP they start reviewing immediately... ppl have already been accepted into the Winter term. NSU does take long to review because if you have gone over our posts you can see some of our frustrations, etc. so send everything into the undergraduate admissions department asap with your current transcript... if you finish classes before the deadline make sure you send in your final transcript as well as they will not determine your placement until they receive everything thats FINAL.... so start doing everything.. you have time because the deadline is May 1.... but the sooner the better because if you have any "hiccups" you can fix them or talk to them and get it going... hope this information helped... goodluck on your road to Nova and hopefully you will be a Sharkie!!!

Hi R.G.A.

I am in the same situation as you. I have one last class microbiology that I will complete in the fall of 2010. I want to get into nova's fall 2011 term; however, i think its best to apply for the winter of 2011, then if anything, you can defer your application for the fall of 2011. If i get in the winter 2011 term, I will tell them to let me start in the fall of 2011 so that i may have a chance at the baptist scholarship. Good luck.

thank you jerziana29.

:hrns&wlcm: anything else you need just let me know...
