NSU EntryBSN Program Fall 2010

Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

well I go to BC right now..and I know about their nursing program..unfortunately due to the fact that my first anatomy course was not accepted at broward (i previously took it at fiu)..I need to retake anatomy one at broward this semester..and unfortunately I won't be able to apply until all my pre requisites are completed..broward is strict about that..the system automatically boots u out if you don't have all your pre-reqs done..at least thats what one counselor told me..i'd have to go speak to a counselor and see if this is still valid..I would love to go to broward college for their nursing program..its cheap..my scholarship would cover it..and its a good program..i'm looking into other options as of now..:(

You do need to have your pre-reqs done, that I know. But why would you need to re-take that course? They should give you credit for it from FIU. If I were you I would go in and speak with an advisor about it. Maybe than have some sort of waiver that would apply in that case. I actually got my AA there and they waived my physical science for me since I was a nursing major. Just see what you can do. I took the hesi and I am in. I am really happy to be heading there for nursing school. I will be debt free when I graduate. Maybe you can do the same. :) Good luck and don't give up.

I spoke to an advisor..spoke to the dean of nursing..etc..and my request was denied..when i attended FIU there was a form with the equivalent course numbers for all the local schools and colleges (for courses related to nursing schools) when I transferred over to Broward I completed anatomy 2 because according to the equivalency form that is what I was supposed to take next..in May when I went to see an advisor to speak about my application process she told me that on my official transcript it showed that my previous anatomy course from fiu was evaluated as the same course i took at broward..so as of now..it looks like i'm missing anatomy one..when i tried to dispute the incident..i was denied..they simply told me that it was an error of the entrance counselor who advised me to take anatomy 2..etc etc..they apologized blah blah blah..which is why I believe that my acceptance into any programs has been a bit difficult..until i complete anatomy one and have that show on my transcript then i think i'll pretty much get denied..since the official transcripts that schools look at are the most recent..a big ol' mess i know..but congrats to u!

Thanks! And don't give up!! I know now it seems like forever, but you are closer than a lot of other people. And one thing this journey has taught me is that now since I worked sooo hard for it I am a lot more grateful and will work a lot harder because I know what I went through to get in. So I know that you will be a great nurse don't give up! You are one course away from being accepted :)

I can't find information on BSN program at the BC website, Do you guys know if it's an entry level program, or do you have to already have your RN?

I believe it is just starting this year August 2010. I don't think it is entry level. I am going to get my AS in 18 months with them and then do the transition. Their RN is only $6,000. My issue is the money. I don't qualify for financial aid so I have to pay everything out of pocket. You can call them though they can give you all the info. you need over the phone. I know that it is new, and they were giving information sheets on it.

Hey there! I applied for Fall 2010 and received an email to defer on the 9th of July. My VIP page kept saying they had never received my transcripts for one of my schools. FYI..my transcripts were under my maiden name so they didn't connect them to my married name! If you are having issues, the admissions advisor took care of everything for me and deffered my application to January 2011. This was just last week so I'm still waiting to hear back from them! Good luck all!! Oh and I also read that they were not doing the Baptist Scholarship for the Spring semester, for those of you who are wondering.

nope..the only things i've noticed is that I received a FAFSA email from NSU in my inbox..also my VIP page now just says that my application (which was deferred) is currently being reviewed..and that any decision I receive will be sent via mail..so we'll see

Lindalove008- I am in the same boat as you! Deffered my app and my VIP says the same thing as yours. I emailed the advisor to find out when we would be notified and she told me that they are planning to have all decisions made by October. I just want to know already! Waiting everyday hoping that you get an answer is draining!

Kristou- I heard from someone that they are reviewing applications on a first come first serve basis....so the sooner you get your app in the better off you will be! Otherwise, if they get to many apps you may be deffered to the next semester!

I believe there will probably not be as many apps in the Spring as there is in the Fall, because most people start college in the Fall semester as there isn't a Summer session. My fingers are crossed! Good luck to you both! I'll let you know if I hear anything....please do the same!

kristou, remember the sooner the better, there's already a couple of decisions made. I know of 5 people on this site alone that have been accepted for the winter 2011 term including myself. I submiited my app on June 11. GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING
