Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

so the deadline is approaching...this saturday..so hopefully May will be the month when we find out the rest of the decisions. Obviously we know that some ppl have gotten their acceptance letters (like one person from our forum lol) and I'm not sure if rejection letters have gone out or not..I'm not giving up hope..I applied and in February...but they didn't cash the check until like the end of February so maybe their still debating my status?? :/...who knows...

I know that 2 rejection letters have already gone out because they were people i knew.... but lets not get discouraged, so far Mari is the only one from this forum that got accepted, however my Microbiology class 7 people applied in February same case as yours and they have yet to hear anything. So i honestly think that at this point they are waiting for anyone that has pending classes to send transcripts in. I just dont know what to think anymore. Of course you are going to have those applicants that are applying last minute.. like one of my best friends.. she was waiting until this semester was over to apply so she is actually applying this week... SOOOO lets see how that plays out.. but i also think that they are behind and very disorganized. So we need to be patient, even though its giving me ulcers :angthts:

We all still have a chance, so lets think that way. Even though i was accepted into another program i am still set on NSU, especially that it starts in Aug a lot of other programs are starting next year due to full capacity.... its a relief that i have a back up but still when its your first choice thats like your baby..:dncgbby: let me know if you hear anything and I will keep you posted as well... OOh and about those highschool transcripts they do need those in order to make a decision. a copy of your diploma is not enough. And then also do credit checks. FYI...after I went through the trouble of getting my high school transcripts to NSU, they told me that if you have over 18 college credits I didn't need them and they waive that. Did you say they do credit checks too?? That is a little crazy. But ok I guess lol. :)

OMG are u serious!!!! Do you see how much misinformation they give you. The counselor i spoke with said you did need the HS transcript oh my god!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr :eek: Well i already had sent them my HS stuff... geeeez... But yes for sure they look at your credit they do a credit check. One of the girls from last semester was denied due to her having bad credit but i think hers was really bad i am not sure but i am sure that they check that due to the fact that they want to make sure that if and when you apply for loans that you will be granted those loans since they look at credit therefore if you have bad credit how are u able to pay for school. Thats their mentality u know... But im pretty sure thats not a huge problem for some of us. I just wish that they would be clear on what they wanted as far as applications, etc. But anyways, i guess we are like sitting ducks here. :yawn:

Congrats Jerziana, Where did you get accepted?

I am still waiting, I finished all my courses last week but MDC won't post them til the end of this week.

I am so anxious and overwhelmed by NSU. I hope everyone keeps us posted. :)

Hey ZDream, i know how nerve wracking it can be... i hate it. i Keep checking to see if the grades are posted so i can shoot my transcripts over asap. I wonder if we pass the deadline will they still accept the transcript? What if Miami dade posts everything this Friday and our transcripts wont get there till Monday? You know what i mean, thats what im worried about. That maybe they will just close it and make the decision since the deadline is Saturday. Since they are all over the place i think im getting paranoid lol.. I want everyone to hurry up with their finals already lol

I got accepted into UM's program. Canes!!! However, the money is absolutely ridiculous!!!!

Just need to be patient.... we have waited this long right.... we have stuck it out thus far. Just a couple of more days i hope. i need a drink after this :beer:

Hey, I know the application for the Fall 2010 class is due May 1st. I've sent everything in except for my transcripts and am hoping to do it by April 27th...do you think that will affect my chances? It seems like some people have already been interviewed or have gotten in but I thought that they wait until May to review the applications. Do you think I still have any chance? I have a 3.8 GPA.

You definitely have the right GPA! I got in with a 3.55 so you're ok there. By the way, they got rid of interviews so they're only reviewing the documents you send in. As for your transcripts, I think you should be fine. It sounds like a lot of people are on the same boat as you are so Im sure they're aware of the date conflicts. I think as long as you sent in all your other paperwork before May 1 then you're in their system as having applied. The real game is going to start come next week when they start getting all the updated transcripts. Best of luck to you and everyone!!

Also, does anyone know how they are treating people that retake Psycology when it comes to acceptance? I took it a long time ago and didnt do well so, I am retaking it this semsester, but I already submitted my transcript because Denver told me that I must submit them before MaY 1st because if they dont receive anything I will get denied.. So, I got scared and submitted..but I dont want them to use the bad grade for PSY. Instead I want them to see the good grade which I will get this semester.. I am going to resubmit the transcripts after my grades go in.. I hope that doesnt affect me...Dis you guys have toi submit transcripts from all the universities you went to..or just the one where you completed the required pre-reqs??

the same thing happened to me with sociology. i took it so long ago and didnt do good in it. im retaking it this summer and then im going to send my transcripts in again. i sent nova my transcripts for last semester, and im going to resend them after this semester and then again after i take sociology and chem in the summer... got my fingers crossed they'll allow it...

Hey mari7319, Congratulations on getting accepted! Im planning on applying to NSU but for the next deadline. I have the same gpa as you but in my transcripts I have only one repeated class (my first semester of college), I was curious if you had the same case by any chance?

Im planning to apply after June 18 before the Oct. 1st deadline, so I will be applying a good couple months before. That means I should find out earlier hopefully (even though I saw how disorganized they have been) in order to apply for the BHSP. I wish you the best with that, I know it must be very nerve wrecking, but just be yourself and be confident. Let me know how it goes :) GOODLUCK!!
