Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

Hey guys, well as for the repeated class they look at the year you took it... i had the same problem with Math even though they dont require it, it still looks bad you know. But when i spoke with Denver he advised me that they look at the year and then what you did to make up for it. So if it was a long time ago or whatnot they can bypass and waive it especially if your gpa is at a 3.8 as you stated earlier, thats a for sure shoe in for you.. trust me... so dont even worry about that PSY class you are fine. Dont get scared because as long as you are in the system you are branded as an applicant since you sent them everything except for whats pending you know.

Honestly i think you are good to go with NSU... i do have Denver's email however the site doesnt allow me to post it... plus i emailed him like a week ago and no response. But maybe you can have more luck than i have lol... let me know if you still need and maybe i can fwd it to you or something. But hang in there deadline is saturday so anytime now... :lol2:

Denver told me to resumbit my transcripts once MDC has updated them and that way Nova will have your most updated ones and see that you have passed all your classes. Hopefully it's true because I'm taking three classes now that are needed and three in the summer so I'm not sure if they even want to consider someone missing so much. I would just call Denver directly and not rely on emailing..you can find it on the Nova website though. I've gotten different information from different people at nova and that makes me very nervous.

Did they already choose all of the people for the Baptist scholarship? I'm not even sure if it's worth waiting an extra semester to sign up for, it seems so selective..

yeah they also told me to resend whatever classes we have completed so that they are aware of our academic standing... I am waiting for my grade for Micro to post so i can just send it off asap. Dont worry i think everyone here has received different info from Nova, and its irritating to say the least. No one can give you a right straight-forward answer. It also makes me nervous and makes me wonder what their priorities are you know. I called yesterday to ask them if its ok to send transcripts after the May 1 deadline because the grades are not posted yet and she was like Oh i dunno you may have to speak to someone else... i left 3 messages yesterday to 3 different ppl. One was Denver, Monica and then Sabrina. No call back yet. I dont think its going to be fair if they hold it against you if the updated transcripts are not in because we have no control when the grades will be posted. For that they tell us that we shouldnt apply until ALL courses have been completed like UM does.

I am going to call again today i swear they know my name by now i dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing lol.. Ive become a NOVA STALKER... i think its unfair they give us the run around. :down:

As for the Baptist Scholars thats very competitive but Nova also has their own scholarships as well that one can apply for. Im just concerned about how they are treating this transcript thing. Especially since they have messed up twice with my application already, thank god im on top of it and think we all should be on top of them. But just a couple of more days to go..... im so nervous its very discouraging.

Hi everyone. I got a call from the nursing department today telling me that I needed to submit all my missing information so they could review my application. Crazy!! I have had everything in since February. So I called them bayck and I spoke with someone who told me Denver is on vacation. And this person informed me that they have a list of people who are still missing stuff, but that I was in that pile in error, and that they were calling from the actual nursing committee that makes the decisions, and that now my app was in the right place. So I am one who has called them over the past 2 months and everytime I call they say everything is in..and my VIP page says everything is in, but some how the nursing committee didn't have everything yet..so call and make sure on your applications!

Like many of you, I turned my application for Nova early February. Before turning in my applicatoin, I spoke to one of the Nursing advisors at Nova regarding a class I am currently taking (sociology) at MDC. Well in March I recieved my denial letter but it states in the letter that if I have any further documentation that I can present to the committee that can possibly alter their decision, to do so. After being told that I can turn in my sociology grade after the class was over (April 30), I was now told that I have to turn in that sociology grade before May 1st. That was impossible because the MDC grades are not offically in the system until May 1st. It takes two buisness days for an electronic transcript to get to Nova. Im basically out of luck and will have to reapply the following term. I got an A in my sociology and graduated from MDC with my AA and now im playing the waiting game. in the mean time, I will probably go take the two classes that FIU requires that you take at FIU in order to apply to their nursing program.

Oh wow! If you don't mind me asking what is your GPA? I just finished four classes at MDC and im waiting for them to send my updated transcripts to Nova. In the mean time were all waiting....

i have a 3.15. I know by all means it isnt the highest G.P.A, but I have a friend that got into Nova this semester with a 2.8. unlike me, she had all her courses completed when she turned in her application.

I agree with you. I applied to the RN -BSN online program and found out about 2wks ago I was accepted. It is so important that you look at the VIP page and if it is not updated to please follow up with them. That is how I found out they didn't receive things.Keep following up with them till you know that they have all your information.

Do not worry many of us apply at Nova do not have the 3.8 GPA that most colleges ask for.

I hope you are able to solve your situation, and get accepted even if its next semester.

There was a pile of errors...uhh okay. Did they call those people and let them know? Or is it that if you didn't call them then your application doesn't get look at?

Oh and for those other MDC students out there, should we send the new transcripts ASAP? I know the grades have been updated now and have come through for the Spring classes, but does this also mean we can assume the transcripts have been updated as well? I guess I'll have to wait until Monday to call MDC and ask.
