NRSE 4520 Health Assessment-Summer 2013...role call

Who is taking this with me? Let's support each other. I am currently looking to see if I can find the reading assignments before the week the class opens.

For any of the nurses who have graduated from the RN to BSN on Ohio online - which classes were the most difficult, meaning instructions are incomprehensible and written in Greek, which classes were the most obnoxious in content - suspect in book sources, and which classes were the most rewarding, which classes were the most disorganized, and which classes had the most busy work?

This is my list:

1) Most enjoyable, rewarding and second most difficult: the Introductory Professional nursing class that everyone starts with. Amazing class. Extremely difficult and new material. Most mind and soul engaging. Most inspiring.

2) Most disorganized class - questionable instructions- This one. 4520.

3) Most distorted class - Diversity. It could have been presented so much more fairly to minors, without distortions.

Anyway - I took other classes but these are the ones that come to mind.

I would love to hear the feedback of those who graduated and of all their classes how they would rank it and rate it.

I'm not done yet, the Global Health was the worst for me so far. I agree 4510 was the best, I learned the most, had eyes opened etc. I didn't find Diversity so bad. I have Family, Gerentology, Leadership, and the last one to go. I'll be interested to see what everyone else thinks. So far I've see the most complaints about Family.

I have only taken 4510 and Diversity. Not bad. 4510 was hard for me as I had never done APA (was out of school over 30 years!). taking 4560 this summer and am in business communications now. Diversity not bad and I got the highest percentage in my section which made me feel better that I still had some brain cells working upstairs. Nervous about taking some of the rest, especially 4550 and 4580 :no:

Actually, now that I have actually started doing the physical assessment for this week - I am feeling a lot better about this class and am beginning to think I am going to get a lot out of it!

Me too. What's 4580? I am sort of neutral about research 4550 (4 credits - which means 5 weeks of no life to speak of) - I tell you people - get PERRLA - its a software for APA. It will save your sanity! and help you focus on the papers and not on the @*&%$ APA formatting!

4580 is leadership. I got PERRLA, it is a lifesaver. Not looking forward to 4550 or 4520 which I am taking this fall:sarcastic:

I liked Family, Gerontology, Public Health and thought Diversity was a breeze.

I disliked 4550 Evidenced Based Practice class and hated the book. It was disorganized and the tests did not match the material to read.

I found 4600 easy to do for some reason, including the Indirect Clinical.

what is the indirect clinical all about?

Which one was global health? What number was that?

2yearrnba: global health is not a nursing course. It is a cross cultural perspective coures. I think it is HSP 120 or something like that. I literally spent over 20 hours a week for each week of that class. Only thing I did like was that the quizzes were set up so that you could retake it 3 times if you didn't like your grade. Otherwise big waste of time on APA nit-picking.My first paper I spent 14 hours on and got a 67%. There were no comments about the content, just APA and small grammar errors. She said I was not giving enough examples. so from that paper on every paragraph I wrote "For example" or "To illustrate". It was insane.
