Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Program

Published

hello,

i have a few questions for nova southeastern university (davie, fl campus) current nursing students and alumni.

i was told that there is an interview process; i would like to know what the interview process is like?

what questions are being asked?

how you are being evaluated?

how many people are in the room?

what kind of setting/environment does it take place in?

also.. would you say this school is difficult to get accepted in? what kid of students are they looking for (academically)? any tips &/or suggestions?

xoxo

Okay, I just spoke with Nova and they recieved my transcripts! Whew. They said they would waive the highschool transcripts. Also, they said they were not doing interviews. That's kind of dissapointing because it's really going to depend on your essay (I wrote mine in an hour, I don't know about you guys :p), recommendations, and GPA. A lady about a month ago had told me that they could do some on the phone though.

People who have gotten admitted already are the people who didn't have classes pending. Since I still have summer classes to take the gentlemen (Denver) said that that would be fine but that it would also be a good idea to send in the updated version of my transcrips when the results for this spring class come in. Denver also said that I should know by the end of may. I guess it's just a waiting game now and since I pretty much have no backup all my eggs are in. Good luck to everyone, keep the updates going!

I don't really believe them though because last year two of my friends found out that they got in almost exactly two weeks before classes started...

I got into Nova's BSN nursing program. I dropped of everything in person at 3pm the last day to apply which was october 1st for january and got in. I got interview in november and toook about 3 weeks to get acceptance letter. my gpa was 3.0 with Ws and one F. currently in my 5th semester. If you get an interview you are practically in. Nova doesnt waste their time and they are more focused on the interview than grades. Good luck!

Jojo- nova is no longer doing interviews its only based on gpa and your transcripts. So W's and F's count against you. Many students have been denied acceptance because of their grades. Congratulations on your acceptance and graduating from the program soon.

Waw. I did not know they stop doing interviews. That sucks. when I got invited to the interview they told me that if you get interviewed considered urself in. and all the people that interviewed that day with me got accepted too.

Specializes in Icu.

Congratz jojo. How's is it going in the program? What do I need to make a webstar account.? I gave a VIP page but not a webstar account.

the program is great! can wait to be done. are u in the nova program? usually they send you a package with instructions on how to start webstar and sharklink. You must first be entered in the system.

I applied at the beginning of April, and I just finished sending my updated official transcripts from MDC. I'm all finished with the Pre-Reqs, so I guess I just wait now.... Goodluck everyone Let me know how it goes with the application process from this point! Thanks!

I also got accepted into Fall 2010 entry level BSN program and my GPA is 3.3

However, i am still not sure whether or not I am going to attend. I am between FGCU and Nova... comments on which one is the better option??

Cyndee= when did you receive your acceptance for fall of 2010 entry level BSN for Nova's program? also did you have all of your pre-requisites completed? and when did you submit your application? I only ask because a lot of other students are still waiting to hear, including myself... thanks this information will be very helpful

Lastly, they are both great schools! However, if its about money go with FGCU because I know nova is $40,000 for the whole nursing program. FGCU is only $ 150.30 per credit hour and if you enter as a transfer student to do only your upper (64 credits) then its about $9,612.20. Remember, FGCU is cheaper because its a public university and nova is more expensive because its private. Now, I don't know how to calculate your clinical credits (18=810 contacts) or laboratory credits (1.5c= 67.5 contact hours) but either way its not going to be no were near $40,000. By the way I got this information from the FGCU website. Financial aid= Cashiers and about the nursing program I read the "BSN program guidebook 2009-2010"= Nursing (B.S.N.)

Also, FGCU nursing program is

I just received an acceptance email on May 15 informing me that I would be receiving my official letter in the mail shortly. When I originally applied back in February I was still taking my last pre-req and sent that last transcript around March.

Thanks so much for all the information. Very helpful!! :)
