Hello Everyone,
I am just writing to vent. I didnt get accepted into any programs this fall. I am a little bummed out because i just want to get the ball rolling. I have a degree in psychology and decided to go back to school for nursing. I applied everywhere and my grades are fine (3.5overall) and I didnt get accepted. Part of me is a little relieved to take this year and just work and pay off previous school loans and such but I'm a little depressed at hearing everyone that is getting started. I have a huge stash of applications for next fall and I am keeping my fingers crossed already.
Well thanks everyone for just listening.....

I'm sorry to hear that How frustrating, but it sounds like you'll make the best of it.
I am also waiting around for a Sept 2007 start, but for me it's because of needing to pay off debts and also waiting for my son to start school (I work at home now).
I am itching to get going too!!! I will take some online courses while I wait, but right now I've got to sell my van to pay for them, so once again I'm waiting for that!!! Argh!
I just try to lagh at myself and recognize my impatience as a sign that I really am passionate and I am going in the right direction!

Hang in there! It's really competitive right now, as you've seen, but persistence does pay off.

You have come to the right place to vent. There are many in the same spot. If I do not get accpeted in November for Januray 2007, then I will be re-applying for September 2007 too. Good luck! :monkeydance:

how disappointing. at least it sounds like you know how to make the best of a frustrating situation.
i went through the same range of emotions when i thought i definitely didn't get into school for the fall (now i'm not sure if i did or didn't get in). for now i'd say it's important to let yourself be upset & mourn the fact that you didn't get in... after that's over, make plans that you're really excited about that wouldn't be possible if you were in nursing school, whether it be paying down your other school debt, travelling or reading a really good book every single week (since we all know we won't have either extra time or money once we're in).
anyway, good luck to you! you definitely have a positive attitude, so hopefully things will work out for you soon. :)

While you wait, can you take courses as a non-matriculated student somewhere that would be able to be transferred to an accelerated BSN-MSN program?

I feel your pain. I can't even apply until January. My advisor messed up my scheduling and a pre-req I was counting on transferring didn't, so now I'm a year behind. I originally planned on apply for Fall 2006. So now I am applying for fall 07 and I hoping I get in! If I don't not sure what I'm going to do since I will finish all possible classes I can take aside from nursing this fall (for the BSN). I currently have completed 54 credit hours of undergrad classes and will take my remaining 7 credits in fall. Crossing fingers for all of us to get in next year!
Well at least we're all in the same boat together
Soon enough we'll all be posting that we're in for Fall/07! The time will fly by - I know it will.
Best of luck to all!:icon_hug:

I'm in the same spot - although I need to finish up 3 more prereqs first and will also be working to pay off some debt.
It is frustrating and you have to practice a lot of patience but it will all work out in the long run!
Hello everyone again,
Thanks for all the kind words. It just gets totally frustrating!! Quick question though, does anyone have any guides or tips for practicing for the GREs. I've taken them twice and havent done well despite my good grades so i will using the year to practice for it. Any ideas? Thanks again everyone for all the positive words!

I feel all of your pain!
I am not even positive I will get a spot in 2007!
I will be finishing up everything to apply to Oakland Community College (in Michigan) this summer. Except for my one anguish...Chemistry. I will retake that class for a better grade in the winter. I cannot apply until May of 2007, but that means I had my pre-req's done a year before that date pretty much.
So I don't know, its confusing, upsetting, depressing and giving me an ulcer!!
I am 22, and have been going to school for 4 years, have abou 75 credits under my belt...and I am still trying to get my associates.
Hopefully, all of this will be worth it!
Anyone have any experience applying or being admitted into OCC?

Uh, here's something to make you ALL feel better! I just got accepted and won't get to start until Aug. 2008!!!
In fact, I started a thread in the "General Nursing Student" forum for the Class of 2010, and no one has replied yet. Am I the only unfortunate one? :chair:
