Please don't put on FB.
Kid's team is going to Chicago 'burbs. Any food recommendations in the Bensenville/Wood Dale area? Anything we should try to see?
Many thanks!

My parents fell in love over Vito and Nick's. I have a friend who own an Aurelio's and it is awesome. We went to Aurelio's after my dad's memorial service and all my relatives from out of town insist on getting it now when they come to Chicago.

My parents raised us on thin crust! Obbie's is another awesome place. When my uncle is in town, he will drive the hour from my mom's house just to pick it up.

Team thin crust all the way! I love Chicago, but our "Chicago Pizza" is basically lasagna. I don't know if you have time to check out the Science and Industry Museum, but that's one of my favorite places. Such cool exhibits. I got SO excited when we did field trips there when I still did school nursing! Navy Pier is very touristy, but there are some cool shops. It's fun to say you've been, but I definitely prefer the museums. Be prepared to bundle up, though! It's been SO cold this week. There was literal snow on my car when I went to work this morning, and this may be Chicago, but that's still not the norm for us in April.

OOh now I am excited for MY Chicago trip in July. I am taking my two kids the week of the fourth of July.
The Taste of Chicago should be going on at that time in Grant Park. We went as kids and I went a couple years ago for the first time in 15 years. You can sample some pretty good eats but not for cheap!

Gotta take them on the "L" I rode the loop twice just to say I have done it!!!
My kids love the L. We don't always take it but they think it is so cool when we do! I'm not great at navigating it but I don't always try- I'm usually with my sister who lives in the city and just follow her.
To me, that was the main (visual) difference as far as just walking down the street between Chicago and NYC.
"Eataly" a great restaurant/market is a gastronomical delight!!!

*whispers* get the kids a rainbow cone too while you are at it or go to Margie's
4th of July is the best in Chicago
We visit family every year on the 4th. Between the taste, free music and splash pad like area at Millennium park and the AMAZING fireworks at Navy Pier (That you can watch from a picnic blanket from Millennium park), it's all soo good.

Hmmm. My Taco Bell breakfast this morning just isn't cutting it. Sounds quite yummy up yonder.
