Please don't put on FB.
Kid's team is going to Chicago 'burbs. Any food recommendations in the Bensenville/Wood Dale area? Anything we should try to see?
Many thanks!

You should find somewhere that serves Italian beef sandwiches! A Portillos should be easy to find :) Get some Garrett's popcorn (Chicago blend is caramel corn and cheese popcorn).
Brookfield Zoo is not far from there. If you want to go into Chicago, you can do a lot right by Millennium Park. City of Chicago :: Millennium Park Events Calendar
Check the calendar for free events.
Right by Millennium Park is Maggie Daley Park which is a huge playground. The Bean is there. Couple blocks away is The Art Institute of Chicago (rated best museum in the world several times!). Admission is always free for kids (up to 14, I think?). Thursday evenings are free for everyone.
Kidz, you are the best!

Yes to all of this! Chicago is my hometown and now I miss it more.
Giordanoss and Lou Malnati's have the traditional Chicago pizza and they both have locations not too far from where you will be.
I hope you have a great time
Thanks!
You can also take the train in to downtown which is a cool experience in itself. There's a Metra station in Bensonville and you can take it all the way to Union Station. From there it's about a mile walk straight down Adams to Michigan Ave. You will come out right in front of The Art Institute (two big lions statues in front). It's about a block or 2 from there to Millennium Park and a couple blocks in the other direction to Buckingham Fountain (from the Married with Children opening).
When are you going?
Tomorrow!

Would this be the deep dish-style pizza??? Thank you!
Yes it would! 1 piece is a meal! :)
Get some south side thin crust too! I prefer it over the deep dish.
Where is your favorite? (I get into pizza arguments with my family all the time who are on the southwest side lol)
There are TWO KINDS of Chicago pizza??? Roll me home.
My parents fell in love over Vito and Nick's.
I have a friend who own an Aurelio's and it is awesome. We went to Aurelio's after my dad's memorial service and all my relatives from out of town insist on getting it now when they come to Chicago.
