Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!

Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:

Good luck to everyone!

Specializes in ante/postpartum, baby RN.
How many exams have you had yet? I hope they're going well.

Test 2 is tomorrow. But we already had the pharm test and that took a lot of time. :clown:

Fun,

I know - time is flying. I can't believe the semester is half over already; but I am glad that it IS. Good luck on your Test 3. Hope you and your family enjoy your winter vacation in FL.

Amy

Well, I'm still up doing study guides for the third test. I can't believe the semester is half-way over already!

I hope everyone is doing well. I know we have had one to drop, but the official drop date hasn't come yet. I think it's Nov. 16th. Hopefully, everyone will be doing well enough to not need to drop.

I'm looking forward to Christmas at Disney World. I've been told that's their busiest time of year. (I'm not looking forward to the lines....summer wait times in the lines are bad enough!)

We're staying at a Disney resort, so we'll get an extra hour in the park! :D Maybe that will help out for the "Gotta ride-rides". lol

OK....enough dreaming of a 'so called break'.........because I know I'll be studying there and back.

Back to reality, and back to the study guides. ....Gotta make it through semester 1, before I need to worry about studying for semester 2. lol

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Hey everyone...just checking in...

Now they verified that they sent it to the right address, but won't tell me anything until Nov 4th. If I still don't have a letter, I have to go up to the campus.

But, at least I'm managing to keep my chin up and do well in the classes I am taking now. I was worried I would let it get me down and blow my midterms.

Good luck on Test 2 and 3!

Jaxia,

I'm glad to hear that you haven't let this whole mess let you down - I'm not sure that I could do it! I hope in your case that good things DO come to those who wait. :icon_hug:

That's great that you're keeping your chin up! You're learning a lot about yourself and what you're capable of right now so you will be good and ready when you start the nursing program.

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

I just can't believe they wouldnt tell you anything earlier if you went to campus and talked to them - craziness! There should be some way to handle it.

Our mailman delivers mail to the same address on the next streets over ALL THE TIME. So often in fact that I changed my address to a PO box for awhile.

Hang in there!

jaxia, i don't know how you are doing it, but i would be a crazed woman right about now! this is just craziness that someone can't just tell you already! for some reason, i think you are getting in though! at any rate, you are really a strong person, and you are proving right now that you can handle stress, you are going to make a great nursing student, and eventually a great nurse! (i have my fingers and toes crossed for you) ((((hugs)))) and good luck on your exams!

Jaxia...I hope things work out for Spring '07, but if not. Please, please, please, take advantage of it & get all the support courses out of the way, if possible!!!!!!! :)

We went to pick our patient today. I went in and spoke with my patient....a little "non-official" starting assessment, if you will. lol

He seems very nice, and I'm think I'm going to enjoy caring for him tomorrow.

He has had a stroke on the R. Thalamic & will just need assistance with ADL's. He's not a total-care, but it will help get me used to the routine a little. He is self-propelled in a wheel-chair, and goes to three different types of therapy: physical, occupational, and water.

So....off to look up meds, and Dx for my pt.

Fun,

How exciting! I can't wait. Can you tell me the name of that book that you just recently bought for care planning??

Thanks everyone!

 The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if maybe they didn't send letters to the first few alternates, assuming that a few people in the top 100 would turn down the offer. Then, a few days later, a letter would "finally" appear for the first alternate.

Heh. C'mon, give me a break. I have to think about something to keep me from going bonkers :D :lol2:

Good luck on test 3 this week, sem 1!
