I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Today in my Statistics class I discovered that the girl that sits behind me is a Spring 2006 EC new grad RN. She said that her class started with 60 and she only graduated with 10 from her original class - the other 50 failed, dropped out, or had to repeat semesters. She also said that once you get to the end and take the NCLEX that it's really easy since EC / NL over prepares you. She will be starting an ER internship at Baylor in January. She also told me that if I get accepted that she will give me a bunch of stuff she used in nursing school that she doesn't need now!
Wow! That's a wild dropout/fail rate. I'd heard it was bad, but...
It is cool to have that connection though :) If you learn any good stuff, be sure to share
Well, it's my turn to ask for prayers...
My partner and I have been sick for awhile, and finally went to the dr. My partner has bilateral pneumonia, and I have bronchitis. And, when they were doing my chest x-ray, the dr noticed something abnormal with my heart. So, now I have a cardiologist appt to find out if everything is okay. I'm trying not to worry too much about it... but it is my heart, ya know?
Thank you! I hope everyone is hanging in there.
I'm so sorry. It's a frightening thing, I'm sure. Hopefully, the Dr. is just seeing a bad spot on the film.
Prayers definitely said for the both of you. :icon_hug:

I've been answering questions in my Saunder's NCLEX Review, as well as my NCLEX Q&A Made Incredibly Easy books.
I swear, I am in awe over the vast amount of information in a nurses' head. LOL!
I realize that some you use common sense to mark out a couple of the choices, some you just have to make a guess on, but still....the amount of knowledge to pass the NCLEX is just incredible.
It's not that it's a very frightening thing, but just an amazing concept that after two years so much information will be obtained!

:chuckle No class today, but I do have two girls in school. The older one's school starts at 7:15. So, I wake her up around 5:30.
I'm actually sleeping in by waking up at 5:30. lol ...Hubby is in Chicago for two weeks. He usually gets up around 4, and I usually wake up around 5 (if he hasn't disturbed my beauty sleep by that time.) hahahaha
It's all I can do all I can to stay up to 12-1 o'clock studying. (Sometimes I have to give up after realizing I keep dozing off....)
While doing my pre-reqs, I'd stay up until 2-3 AM studying, but had the opportunity for naps then.
I've answered a few of the blueprint questions...still working on them. I've also answered the questions in the study guide as I read, along with answering questions in my NCLEX book.
The NCLEX book is a really neat study supplement. It puts the 'vocabulary word' into a life-like context.....as they will be on the tests, as well as the NCLEX.
