Good luck to everyone!
Jaxia,
I am planning on doing the CPR class this Saturday. I still have to get my last Hep. shot (today) and another varicella (chickenpox) on Tuesday. I was planning on doing CLEP for Developmental Psych. (I have been studying for it for the last month) and was waiting until after I took the test to get my DCCCD transcript so that it would be on there. I just decided 2 days ago not to do the CLEP for Developmental Psych. since the 2 RN-BSN programs that I am looking at will not accept it. So I just need to get a DCCCD transcript and I'll be done. I sent off to get my old university's transcript way back in May since I didn't know how long it would take to get here. I could have had it all done by now but frankly, after last semester, I have just been relaxing and enjoying my summer!
Amy
Amy, did you ever take your CPR class? Do you have your application stuff together? I finally sent off for my transcripts. I *think* they are the last things I need before I can turn in my application!
Well I am thinking about getting the same Dansko's you have Fun. I am just worried about spending that kind of $$$ and them not being comfy for me to wear since I have weird feet. I'll probably go soon and at least try them on to see what I think. But I'll for sure wait until at least Oct. 15 and see if I get in before buying them. I'll probably go and get me a good steth. like yours also. I don't mind to buy the expensive things since I am still working my full time job. I really don't think I will get a PDA though. But I know I won't be buying anything expensive after Jan. when I quit this job and get a part time.
That totally makes sense, Amy. I'm starting to wish I hadn't taken this A&P II class right now. I am having a hard time motivating myself to study for it. I won't get my last Hep shot until November. Which two RN-BSN programs are you looking at?
Wow, those shoes just LOOK comfy. Me want! Me want!
Definitely go try them on/out. You may absolutely hate the way the feel. There are other shoes people recommend on here: Rockers for one, but I can't think of the others. Really, any shoe you feel 'good' in to stand up in for over 12 hours in. (If you get 1 clinical day per week, and not the 2/week.)
As for the PDA, it's definitely not a necessity. If you feel that having one would be beneficial as a nurse, then it can be a gift to yourself after you graduate & start working.
I only have good things to say about this Littmann, but I also know many people do not splurge on a cardiology III for school and do just fine.
It's all up to the individual person.
SunnyJohn lol..... By then, I may have to spring for a white pair to match my hair..... :roll
Speaking of not wanting to study...Fun, did you have a rat disection in your A&P II lab, or something else? I remember you have pictures on your site, but I cannot remember what they are...
No, we had a disected cat. Search google for rat disection, I bet you find what you are looking for. :)
Now, get to studying! :chuckle
Jaxia,
I am looking at UTA's RN-BSN and also University of Wyoming's 100% online RN-BSN. I am trying to knock some of the general classes out that would fulfil either program since I am still not 100% sure which I will end up doing. Honestly, I would like to do the U of W since it would work with whatever kind of work schedule and because it would be do-able if I decided to leave Dallas (I LOVE Houston) after becoming a RN.
P.S. Good luck in A&P 2! Just get in there and knock it out - it will be over before you know it!

lol, I grew up in Houston and live in the Dallas area now. Houston's okay, but the traffic is horrible! I'm looking at the UofW program, too. I really think I want something that is 100% online.
That's the problem! It WILL be over before I know it. I just had no idea how fast it would go. My lab midterm is on Monday! I've had a lot going on this summer that has distracted me, so that doesn't help my motivation any. I really to just quit complaining and suck it up! Thanks!

Funny, any news on your hospital?Katie
Funny you ask. My husband just asked the same question a few hours ago while we were talking on the phone.
Answer? NO! Just what I told him....I'm getting a little antsy.
Things I keep thinking....my "What if" syndrome, I guess... What if they don't hire someone and have to cancel the clinical? What if they can't get a hospital even if they did find an instructor?
I told DH I was thinking about e-mailing Pam, but yet, I'm trying to hold out and not bug her.

Hehe,
If we bought a bunch of pairs to match all our clothings and wore only Dansko's for the rest of our lives, when we got old, We'd have the best feet in the 90 year old set..... And no back pain! :rotfl:
