Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!

Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for not being technical for my sake. :D My cheapo is purrrple. I like purple.

I have so much to learn!

I really want one, but I think I will just put it on my $winterholiday wishlist.

I can't put anything on my Christmas list. My mom is paying for us all to go to Florida for Christmas. So....I can't ask for anything else. lol

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Are you spending Christmas in Florida?

I think between a rolling backpack, PDA and nice 'scope, my list is already pretty long!

Yeah. We've all been during the summer several times, but never during the winter. (Actually never anywhere at Christmas time!)

It'll be different, and I'm not sure exactly where Santa will be bringing gifts.

We'll have to see where he leaves them. :chuckle

One of my sisters isn't going, so she'll be responsible for feeding animals, fish, etc.

We had so much fun on the way down there with the walkie-talkies during the last trip. There were 3 cars and each car had a walkie-talkie on the same frequency. I swear, if anyone was listening in to us, they didn't have to worry about falling asleep while driving. :chuckle

I don't fly....so we're driving....and it's cheaper with so many people going. lol

I'm assuming that since the EC uniform has black pants that most people wear black shoes???

Fun, how is the sizing for the shoes you got? I wear a 7 in tennis shoes but I have a wide foot and can't wear the regular Nike or Reebok (maybe a wide width though). I wear Adidas because they are naturally wider. But I don't think I have ever seen any all black Adidas shoes though.

I got the black Dansko Professionals (Oiled). I got size 40 because I could feel my big toe with each step with the 39. (39 is suppose to be 8-8 1/2.)

The salesperson at Nordstrum told me that you were only suppose to feel the shoe at the top of the foot where the band of the shoe is, not around your toes, etc.

I usually where 8-8 1/2, and do not have narrow feet. I like my shoes either regular or wide, depending on the shoe....and how big they make my feet look. :chuckle

I think these Danskos make my feet look smaller actually....maybe not, but definitely not bigger. :lol2:

They have a great arch in them too. I love 'em! (I may have to save up money to get me another pair once I start wearing these to clinicals.) :chuckle

The camera happy person that I am:

That is such a great idea to have walkie-talkies between cars! I never would have though of that. If your family is anything like my family, I can only imagine! lol

lol...

I took it upon myself to be the official "Keep everyone awake" person.

It was so bad/funny, it even got down to me saying "I spy something white, white, white, white" (the white lane markers painted in the street), or my nephew's comeback, "I spy something greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen". (The trees.) :chuckle

OK...it may not sound very funny here, but when the drivers & myself are doped up on No-doze, I guess it really made it funny. That was probably the lamest, but there was some really funny things being said on those.

Like I said, anyone on that same frequency was probably loving it. :chuckle

(We'd even start talking to other people on the same frequency....For example:

Them: "????, where are you at?" (We don't know the person they're talking to.)

Me: "Where are you at?"

The conversation went back and forth until they realized I wasn't who they were wanting to talk to, or we were out of range. :chuckle

Thanks for your input, Fun - very informative, as usual. You should change your name from 'Study Queen' to 'Info Queen'!

Amy, did you ever take your CPR class? Do you have your application stuff together? I finally sent off for my transcripts. I *think* they are the last things I need before I can turn in my application!

I should just stick with the black pair you got but I love the look of these shoes and would love two pair. I'd sport those red shoes around town!:rotfl:
