I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
LOL! You guys are so funny. Yep, a MAN. I know this sounds crazy, but I think I may have met my future husband and the scary part is he feels the same way! :blushkiss
Congrats! That is so cool! :)
Don't rush anything, but I know how you feel. My husband told me that he told his mother that he had met the girl he was going to marry after our first date. lol Within a month we were already talking about marriage. Of course, we didn't get married until 4 years later, but we did live together all that time. Sometimes you just know....and I don't remember where in the bible that it says I need to pay money for a marriage certificate. :chuckle
We've been together for 13 years now, and married for 9. :balloons:
I'm glad it wasn't your undies.
Well....my name tags are ready to be picked up. I got 'the call' today from NLC.
I had already called earlier to see if my HCA/WorkSource invoice was there (yes), and asked if the books were there (no). Then I asked the price on the skills packet & the lady said, "I don't know". ugghhhh Well, I can't go get them if I don't know the price. That is not the service I expect from NLC's bookstore, and makes me think that lady is from 'one of the other DCCCD bookstores' that I won't mention the name...just in case it's someone's relative. LOL
Anyway, I'm not in a hurry. If the books were in, I'd go for sure tomorrow. My kiddos are spending the night at a friend's house in Irving, so I may go tomorrow. That's only if I go pick them up. If not, my husband will pick them up on his way home from work & I'll pick up the name tags when the books come in.
Also, the $5 coupon that was given to us at orientation isn't good until 8/1. So I might as well wait until after then to buy the skills packet and get $5 off. :chuckle
Oh well........STATS has started. Good luck to all of y'all who are taking Summer II classes, and I hope you did well for those who took Summer I classes. :)
46 days until Fall '06.
Congrats Amy :) Take your time and enjoy it too!
(Personally, I was hoping you'd found some great scholarship or something that we could all use! HA!)
I'm taking A&P II. Lec started yesterday and lab started today. We have to chop up dead rats! Why do I always get the pregnant ones?
Good luck with stats!

Jaxia....
:barf01: Nothing worse than a rat, except a pregnant one. At least it's dead.
Good luck on your A&PII. I left a message for you in yesterday's GM thread about using my powerpoints if you need them. :)
Hi, all:
I've been lurking for a few months but thought I'd finally write! Very interesting/ informative/ helpful people here!!
Here's my story:
Divorced a few years ago - son just graduated HS - and I'm almost 50!! Started thinking about what I wanted to do for ME after my son graduated and he didn't need me anymore (I don't think that really is going happen anytime soon!!! but MY life will move forward) - and I kept coming back to nursing. I have a BS in Business and have all my pre-reqs and support classes completed with A's in all. But I need to sale my house before I start nursing school so I'm looking at Fall '07.
I need advise/information on my question -
I intend to work PT while going to school but will also have to take out loans for tuition, books, living expenses, etc. How does that work? Do I try to figure out what I need for the full 2 years or do I borrow each semester or what???? Please educate me on the loan/money aspect.....
Any words of wisdom????
Do you think I'm crazy? Too old?
Hi and welcome, maurabartley.
:welcome:
Too crazy? nope Too old? nope
As far as loans, etc, it would probably depend on the loan itself, but you only pay per semester. It would probably be up to you to not spend the money.
I don't really know much about loans, except the guaranteed/Stafford loans, but I don't think you can get one with already having a BS in business.
Hopefully there will be more in here tomorrow that can help you out better.
Good luck!! :balloons:

Welcome! I wish I had more info on the loans. Have you decided on ECC? Have you looked into accelerated programs for people who already have a BS degree? Good luck!
I guess I should be glad this isn't a long semester -- I only have to use the same rat for 6 weeks. In the long semesters...ewwww! :) I will check out your powerpoints -- thanks for mentioning them!
