I wonder if they'll let me change to NL after the first semester?

Jaxia,

I know a couple of people who switch back and forth between campuses. You just have to let them know you're interested in changing and give good reason other than you just want to and if they have room they will let you in. The people I know had to switch because of where they lived so I'm sure if you come up with something good they'll let you on over. :D

Yeah, I think I'm still in shock. I got so used to the idea of not starting nursing school in the Spring that I'm having a hard time adjusting :D And you are right -- I do appreciate it more now!!

I wonder if they'll let me change to NL after the first semester?

I'm sure they would, as long as there's room. As the way things go....there will probably be a spot or two.

You will have bonds made there, but it's not like you're guaranteed to get the exact 10 people each semester. (From what I've heard, sometimes that's good!) lol

Luckily my group of 10 get along pretty well. It's going to be very weird not having the same 10 next semester, but different people want different clinical sites. So, who knows where we'll be.

I'd even tell them if there's a spot that opens up at NLC before the semester starts, that you'd like to move over there.

Jaxia,

That's AWESOME! I had a feeling the whole time that you would make it. I just couldn't believe that you were not going in the Spring. (((HUG))) Don't forget, WE still have to take Micro. in the summer!

:D

We haven't even started yet and we have already lost 3 peeps at NL. I just looked on my econnect to see if my schedule was up there yet (it wasn't there this morning) and my lecture only has 47 peeps enrolled. My clinical only has 9. Jaxia......call them and see if you can switch! :D

They hold some spots open for repeats.

That may be where the variation in numbers are coming from.

congratulations jaxia!

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Thanks :D I'm so VERY excited.

I spoke to her today about NL, and she said they didn't have any cancels there -- only ECC. She said everyone from NL bought scrubs and all that good stuff, so things don't look good for the switch in the Spring semester.

Trust me, I didn't forget about Micro this summer!! LOL Anyone know the summer session dates yet?

Hey Amy! I printed out my schedule-did yours finally show up on ecconnect?

My schedule shows lab on Friday, but I also have my clinicals that day from 6:45-3:15, so would my lab be in the evening on Friday? it says TBA right now. Anyone know? Sorry, if this is a dumb question, because I know we don't have clinicals until seven weeks after the semester has started.

Thank you in advance because I know one of you smart ladies will know the answer!

First of all..schedules change..... A lot. lol

Ok....Until clinicals start, you will probably have 1460 skills lab 3 times a week. Then it converts to clinical.

Then, 1119 starts up a few days a week, then down to 1 day a week.

(At least that's how my schedule went.)

Of course, you will still have clinical, 1119 and lecture until the end of the semester.

(I've already completed all of my check-offs, so I don't have to go to 1119 anymore.)

Spill,

They told us at orientation that the Skills Lab day / time showing up on our schedule will be WRONG. She said they didn't have exact day and times yet and they just had to put something down for the time being. She said to check the bulliten board in the nursing dept at NL (in the same hallway where our orientation was). She said it might not be posted until Jan. 12, 2007 (Friday before we start). I hope this helps. Also, I agree with what Fun said. They said to be very flexible because sometimes days / times change and they have no control of it.
