i hope everyone has a good holiday. i will be going out of town and spending the holiday with my family but not in a way that i would like. my mother, who is only 53, died saturday. i will be flying to nashville on thursday and she will be buried on friday. :scrying: :scrying: :scrying:

please everybody make sure that the people who you are close to and you care about know how much they mean to you. you never know when these things are going to happen...and then it's too late to let them know. always be prepared.

amy

thanks fun2care, i really appreciate the info. you seem to have a kind heart; don't change. i hope that your semester is going well (you are almost through it). endurance leads to triumph. have a great semester and i hope to see you around.

neki.

the nurse pac and skills pac are not the same thing. the skills pac contains things like gauze, catheter kit, dressing tapes, abdominal pads, thermometer sheaths, etc.

the nurse pac contains your stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, vis-a-vis pen, and pocket organizer for things you need (pen, etc..)

you do need the calculations book, as some teachers have you do work in it....especially during second semester on when you are doing injections all the way to iv's.

the sna, as said above, is the student nurses' association. i joined because i think it's a good thing. i'm involved because i think it looks good that you volunteered your time. lol!

Thanks. :) I really hope all of you become involved at either NLC or ECC....wherever you may be going.

I joined for the 2 years on the state level, and will stay joined on the local level. After graduation, I plan on being a member of the TNA. (As apposed to the TSNA now.)

I have a 100 average in 1119, and of course 1460 won't be finished until after next week's clinical & careplans are turned in.

Lecture is a whole different story. The class average is "C". We have lost 1/5 of the students, and we just had a test today. I hate the fact that this test wasn't before the drop date. So many people didn't do well at all on this exam! I feel so badly for them. :scrying:

I have an 83 average....sounds good until you realize that ECC's program states you have to have 78-83 for a C. :angryfire I don't think there is a way to study. I think there is something wrong when 3.77/4.0 students have a C average. I've read, I've did study guides, I've reviewed with other students, I've not even read all the chapters for a given exam.....and still come out with around the same grade. :sniff:

Hopefully, this last test will be better for me, and will increase my average going into the final.

I sure hope I can handle 2nd semester...if I don't bomb the 5th test and the final exam!

I hope this doesn't freak anyone out. There are a few people making A's, so it's not hopeless.....but the class average is C. :(

C = Continue! So....back to studying I go! :specs:

I met some of your classmates at NLC after I finished my check off. One of them was crying because of her lecture average. :( It's so sad that you are loosing many students. By the way, I think today's test was the hardest 1st semester test.

Fun2Care, keep your head up. You are strong, and that is why you were selected for this program, you will succeed. BTW Congrads on your 100 in 1119. You are doing great, just think of how many others dropped. Try to enjoy your holiday weekend.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
