:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!

Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:

Good luck to everyone!

lol Katie.....maybe you can come out and say hi on a break. :chuckle

The uniform sales will be in the same room as the orientation this semester, T-107...unless it gets changed. lol (Even still, it would probably be in the same hallway like last semester.)

T-107 is on the right side down towards the middle-end of the first hallway. (If you come from the new parking lot.)

Also, if you are in the parking lot looking towards the T-building, it's better to use the doors on the right side, than the doors closer to the main building.

If you're looking at the school from the parking lot, the T-building is on the very back, right side of the campus, right next to the golf course and lake. (The south-west corner.) :D

Katie,

You should sneak out and say HI!

Amy

I will be at NLC, too. Sitting in class.

Katie

Fun,

Thank you so much for the info.! See you next week. :lol2:

YW :) I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Fun and Spill - it was really nice meeting the both of you today at orientation. Things are finally sinking in - I still can't believe I made it.

It's great meeting you both as well! I hope I didn't confuse you on the pant issue. ;) In fact, I'm going to buy some 'other' black pants. I still have my mind set on black flares. :chuckle

Which clinical did you get?

Fun,

LOL! Now I know why you were zipping your lip on the pants issue! It wasn't you that confused me - it was that guy - the sales rep. Plus, my order form wasn't highlighted of the parts I needed to fill out so I just didn't have it all filled in when I got up to the table.

I'm going to wait until the schedule comes out and then contact instructor about the pants thing and see what she says. I'd like to buy "other" pants as well.

As far as clinical, I picked RHD with Johnston (she is also teaching our lecture - do you know anything about her??). I had # 46 and it was the first number she called out - lucky me. RHD was certainly the closest to me, which was my main concern. I hope the clinical stays the same (Tue & Thurs) since our lecture is on Wed.

Spill made me laugh so hard! She said she hadn't had to be anywhere that early since 1990 or something like that. She said "I'm gonna have to practice!"

I just love Kanora Jackson - she is so, so funny! Her jokes sure made the time pass. :)

Hi! I'm in 4th semester now but I had Johnston for first semester. I had her for everything... She's alright... She is VERY VERY particular about sterile procedures... In fact, she made us tape every one of our sterile procedures, and she would watch them carefully, and if she even thought you broke the sterile field, she would take the tape home and put it in slow motion and even zoom in... so I suggest that when you get to sterile procedures that you make your tapes PERFECT!! She used to be an OR nurse.. that's why =) She is kinda lazy and sarcastic... She takes her sweet time to do things and if you ask a question she will sometimes make you feel stupid for asking it.. She wants you to know your stuff... But if you call her because you have to give a med, it might be like 20+ minutes before she gets there because she takes forever... But if you ever need to find her in a hurry, she's usually in the floor lobby watching soap operas =) RHD is a TINY TINY hospital... I chose it because it was close to me too... The very last day of clinical though, we all went to a Mexican restaurant and had margaritas =) So she's nice and cool outside of class and clinical... But she is VERY sarcastic =)

That's awesome Amy! I'm so happy for you! You got the hospital you wanted and everything :D That's a great schedule too! I am Tues, Wed, Thur with lecture, skills, and clinical and I love it! Mondays and Fridays I work but it's still nice to just have those official 4 consecutive days away from school. It's great for studying too, in my opinion.

I wish you the best of luck this semester! I'm at El Centro so I know I don't know as much about your campus but we're all learning the same material and I would certainly help you out if I was ever called upon :)

Allison,

AWW! How sweet of you! I am sure I will be asking for your help soon enough. :icon_hug:

Just think, you are nearly HALF WAY there! :D

Sorry, I had clinical today. :)

I like Mrs. J for lecture, but there are different opinions. I don't know how she is as far as a clinical instructor, but I bet you will learn a tremendous amount from her. Be nice to all the instructors, that's the only thing you can do. lol

DON'T EVER LET ANY INSTRUCTOR MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID FOR ASKING A QUESTION!!! Really, if you feel any "vibes" like that, IGNORE IT! Ask your questions because that is what they are there for!! (...To answer your questions and to teach you!)

I have come to the conclusion that I really can't control who I have for instructors from this point on (not like before when you could find out who the best was and take them) and I need to act accordingly. I am just going to try and NOT be myself so much - meaning I need to start NOW keeping my mouth shut sometimes since I tend to be very outspoken. I need to humble myself and shut up and listen. But I am certainly not afraid to ask questions and will try not to take things personal if they try to make me feel stupid for asking. I have made it this far, I am not going to let something stupid de-rail my train.
