According to what I read after reading all these posts.Would conclude that Presby is a better system than CMC?. How about Northeast Medical Center (NEMC) are they a Magnet status hospital?, Also what about the University Hospital is that part of Presby or independent or with Chapel Hill and BTW is it near the race track?

Presby is definitely known more for their NICU and Labor & Delivery specialty. As far as other departments such as; ER, ICU, Surgery etc., I'm not sure.

Hey Ya'll, Im Patrick from Southseastern NC. I am a 17 year old male pre-nursing student at Bladen CC who hopes to enter Sandhills Community College's ADN Nursing Program fall of 2011! I am glad to see all the NC RN's, LPN's, CNA's, Nursing Students, and pre-nursing students in union!

NEMC is now CMC North East, part of CHS. The University hospital is fairly close to the race track and it is also part of CHS. If you are working in health care in Charlote you pretty much work for CHS or Presby.

I would say CHS is much better for an employer than Presby in the Charlotte area. I have worked for both and the differences in the management are huge!!!!!!! I would never recommend Presby to anyone.

Hello from Charlotte! Came down from NJ two years ago just as I finished my ASN. I'm now employed as an agency RN and I'm hoping to get my BSN in the near future. :yelclap:

I am truly blessed! I am making a career change. I am going to be starting CNA class in a few weeks and will be working towards getting into nursing school by fall of 2012. I already taking some classes at AB tech and hope to get into their great program. I am excited and a lil nervous about this big change in my life. I cannot wait to become a CNA to gain experience and learn, learn, learn! I also hope to work at Mission hospital because they seem to have great programs and benefits. I would love to hear from others who have or are still working at Mission about what it's like. And also anyone attending AB tech. Thank you!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm Stephanie, 24, and living in Greensboro, NC. I just moved down here from NY/CT area 1 month ago...we actually moved 2 days after my LPN school graduation! LOL. I took the N-CLEX PN for an NC license yesterday and will have my results by Tuesday. Hopefully I passed so I don't have to take it again! Also, I interviewed for a LPN position last week and I think I got the job as long as I pass. My husband and I only know a few people down here, so meeting some fellow :nurse: would be awesome!
