  1. I would say CHS is much better for an employer than Presby in the Charlotte area. I have worked for both and the differences in the management are huge!!!!!!! I would never recommend Presby to anyone.
  2. I see that no one has replied yet. I am wondering the same question? Right now in the USA medical transcription jobs are not as popular as they were few years ago. Today voice recoding/recognition systems do the job.
  3. Saudi Arabia is your bet, or the Middle East in general. Check it out. Good luck.
  4. This have started to move a bit faster, so expect a bit faster than 6 mo.
  5. I will confirm that hospitals in the USA will back out of a contract. Visa wait time at this moment is very long.
  6. I concur the last post! However, there are parts in the USA where the demand for respiratory therapist is quite high and not enough employees!
  7. Check to see if you can apply for the green card lottery as an Australian citizen!
  8. If you work as a contractor in any state, you can work with Federal Tax ID, not necessarily SSN.
  9. Any ideas how I can get in touch with Elenova?
  10. dubaiers! What was so stressful there? Can you give some examples?
  11. Do you know of anyone else that has worked there in the healthcare sector?:)
  12. Hello to all contributors to this topic!!! I am actually trying to contact "Elenova" Any one have a contact information for her? It looks like she has not posted in a very long time!? I am looking to find out more information on Abu Dhabi in the healthcare sector, but it seams that she has worked there a while and would like to get her input.
  13. wfubmc is a great place to work. management is great and the benefits are good, many opportunities for growth and flexibility, especially if you are a single mom. there is one place where i worked in the past that i would never recommend to anyone - phh or presbyterian hospital huntersville. the management there is so bad, they all are like the mob. do not really care for the patient care, just for things to look good from the outside. if you are not ready to close your eyes for all the wrong things happening around you, and to cooperate with others that like to cut corners, then never apply at phh or presby for that matter. they say that they have anonymous way to report wrong doings, but trust me, it ain't anonymous, they go back, check and find who that person was and then... be ready to be either fired or to live life in hell. cmc has great environment. their pay is a bit less, but it is all worthy. they have wonderful management that really cares for the patients and that things are done right, and you have more options if you would like to transfer or take on extra shifts. cmc is a great place for single parents or for anyone that likes to have more flexibility. :up:cmc= great managment:up: their patient population is somewhat underserved :redbeathe, but that only makes your job more satisfying. everyone feels like they are part of your family and help you out in any way they can. their attendance policy is very relaxed and so is the whole atmosphere. their physician network is awesome, and all the specialists are a+++. benefits are awesome as well. everyone that i know that has worked for presby and cmc, has gone back to cmc or has stayed at cmc. no one wants to go back to presby = bad management:down:.
  14. i am not surprised by what you've experienced... i used to work in a hospital right outside of charlotte, nc, called presbyterian hospital huntersville. they claimed that they are the best in healthcare, but the truth was they were not. they were best in covering up stories like yours and encouraging behaviors like that. the management did not care at all, the physicians would order tons of unnecessary studies, just to pretend they are doing something, some of the staff was great, but there were quite few nurses that were awful, and no one seamed to care. patients were treated badly and when the patients complained, management would order food or give them a gift card, and things kept going on and on like that. not every hospital is bad, but this one.... was quite bad... the worst part was if anyone had the guts to stand up and say anything they got shut down very fast... i left this place, but i am sure nothing has changed, and management still does not care. they rather cover up the problem rather than dealing with it. they preached one thing, but did totally different thing... i believed that they are different and i had found a place to work where patients are treated with dignity and would received excellent healthcare, but that was not the case... so i feel your pain and have seen it from both sides... so go on and finish nursing school and then remember this experience forever and try to make a positive difference in someone's life.
