  1. In NC many RNs have had their licenses suspended for DWI convictions.
  2. I use NetCE and have never had a problem.
  3. NEMC is now CMC North East, part of CHS. The University hospital is fairly close to the race track and it is also part of CHS. If you are working in health care in Charlote you pretty much work for CHS or Presby.
  4. A 2 year nursing degree. we take the same test to become Registered Nurses as the 4 year Degree nurses.
  5. Most systems have a way to chart by proxy, if your system does not it should have a way to add a comment/note to the charting. As to how long you have to modify or update documentation - that is usually a preference that is set by I. S. per the hospital policy. Our nurses have 4 days (96 hours) to make additions/changes. Nurse managrs may ask for a temporary extension on that for special circumstances.

    CRRN Certified Rehabilitation Nurse
  7. It is legal in NC to take verbal orders, but the hospital policy forbids it except durring an emergency.
  8. You guys never worked on a spinal cord injury unit. I worked 12 years on an SCI unit and have performed hundreds of straight caths on women, usually without assistance or witnesses. Just be professional and offer to get a female nurse if the patient is uncomfortable with you performing the procedure. The occasional patient would request a female nurse, but it didn't happen often.
