  1. That's awesome, congratulations! No, I didn't get in, however I got accepted to Mitchell Community College and I am waiting on a response from Catawba Valley CC. Are you excited? Queens was originally my top choice but after much prayer I felt led to go the Community College route due to tuition costs and the fast paced program. I have been on this nursing journey for 24 years (previous nursing major undergrad) and I didn't want to take any chances to potentially over exert myself and not achieve this life long dream. I am sure you will do well. My end goal is to work for Novant so our paths may cross one day. ?
  2. Hey guys, I'm checking in to see if anyone is or has applied to Queens University of Charlotte's BSN or ABSN program for 2024? I applied to the ABSN program with a start date of May 13th. I also checked the option to do the traditional track if needed. Also, if anyone is currently attending or have graduated from either traditional or ABSN track what are your thoughts?
  3. I purchased my books on the website. If I had known that we were going to get a few tangible books, I would have purchased them cheaper from a different source. Keep in mind it was only a few live books: 2019 Drug Handbook, Manual of Lab and Diagnostic Tests (10th edition), Contemporary Practical/Vocational Nursing (8th edition) and Med-Math (8th edition). The others were Ebooks, with the exception of the 2 on my receipt that have not been shipped yet.
  4. Yes I did!! I received 4 books. Now per my receipt it showed that 6 were shipped so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm assuming that maybe the other 2 will be ebooks as well unless they are on back order. How many books did you receive?
  5. Yes, please let me know if you can figure it out.
  6. I activated my books the day I purchased them. I am able to go in and see the books, I'm just not clear on what the modules are. I see each Unit, but the modules/chapters are not adding up to the numbers on the calendar. I think I might email Mrs. P. (department chair) to get a better understanding cause I really would like a head start.
  7. I believe so. I think the first day is just orientation. I would like to get a head start and begin reviewing the Units due to this "wonderful" exam we're gonna have the first week...Lol. I'm almost certain that we will begin with the Fundamentals book. Also, the Pinning Ceremony was really nice. I almost got emotional due to visualizing myself in that moment next year. The ceremony lasted not even an hour, 45-50 mins at the max...Lol. I met some fellow incoming students for the day program and reunited with a few from the evening program. We passed out the programs at the door. Most of us took the opportunity to chat with the graduates about their experiences.
  8. OK and I sure will!
  9. Hey guys will anybody be volunteering at the Pinning Ceremony tonight? If so, I will be there and it would be a great opportunity to meet the face behind the keyboard í ½í¸‰.
  10. You can never bug me...shoot we are in this together...Lol. I'm not sure, I assume before classes start. I plan to purchase mine next Friday (payday). Either way they're Electronic books so its safe to say before our first exam.... Lol.
  11. Awesome sauce....congrats to you. Get that RN girl!! :-) P.S. Come and check in from time to time so that we can see how you and us are doing.
  12. I remember at orientation they said that the books for NUR 101 will be the same books we'll use throughout the program.
  13. Hey guys.....so I just got off of the phone with the Lippincott website. They have discontinued the payment plans for books. I was on the site about to purchase and I didn't see an option for a plan, so I called. The rep said they recently stopped the plans and will reach out to the instructors to let them know. BUMMER!!!! I just paid my tuition in full and was about to get a head start on my books, but the way my bank account is set up....umm no!!! However, for those of you paying out of pocket for books the price with discount was approximately $693 and some change (I think). It was about 7 or 8 books in all.
  14. Oh yeah I forgot about those lab fees. I need for them to let us know about the book prices so that I can gather my finances appropriately.
  15. Exactly, but they added the ATI price (for the semester only) and our Malpractice insurance. Does anyone know the payment plan price yet? I prefer to just pay out of pocket, cause I think I will make payments on my books. I can't make payments on both. I prefer for my tuition to be paid in full. SN: I got my shoes today. I decided to get the Reebok DMX Max with memory tech foam. They semmed very comfortable, so we shall see.
