No wait extrance into Nursing School

Published

Hello, I am from Cincinnati, Ohio and every Nursing School in this area has at least an 18 month waiting list. Can anyone give me some names of schools who don't have waiting lists? I am looking for anywhere in the us. Also looking for universities where I can finish my BSN? Are other major cities facing the same problem?

Do you have you rpre req's done?? if not then you can take that 18 months to get them out the way and get the A's that will get you in the program

I have all my pre req finished, I am waiting to find out if I have been accepted to some schools here, I know I will have to wait at least a year to begin coursework.

As far as I know there is a waiting list for all nursing schools. Here in Oregon there was 770 applicants for only 40 slots at one school that I applied at another school there was over 1,000. for only 50 slots. I have heard that there are schools in Jamacia that have no waiting list, you attend the first year there then, the last year back at the states. I think there was a thread about it. Good luck

Finish your BSN? You've already started? Not sure about Ohio, but where I am, outside NYC, most 2 year ADN and 4 year BSN programs have wait lists. OTOH, the diploma progams don't really seem to have any lists. That's the route I've taken. Have you checked http://www.clevelandnurse.org/ohio_nursing_schools.htm? The site has info on all US states.

Good luck.

Unfortunately waitlists are found nearly every where. From what I've seen a lot of the BSN programs aren't keeping waiting lists, they accept applicants once or twice a year and you're either in or you're not. That's how my school is, when I applied there were 120 seats and almost 1500 apps (how I made it in still puzzles me some times! :lol2: )

Best of luck to you!

I am going to a community college in North Texas. We don't have a waiting list, but our entrance into the program depends on your grades. If you have all As and a couple of Bs, you are pretty much in. PM me if you have any questions.

Hi,

My community college has no waitlist. When all your pre-reqs are completed it is dependant almost entirely upon grades but there is a residency requirement. I'd rather not say here where I live, but if you are interested PM me.
