No JOB- Spare time=LOSE WEIGHT!

Published

no job yet= lose weight time

okay like mostly everyone here i have been looking relentlessly for a rn job. i have been looking and sending applications everyday and don't have much to show for it. so this may be a little crazy, but i have decided to keep looking just as hard, but because i have nothing else to do..

started working out hard-core about a little over a week ago and getting my diet out of control. i have gained a lot more weight than i wanted to throughout nursing school with all the stress and i would love you now kick off the extra 20 pounds from nursing school and from even before that. what a better time to get in shape but now, when we have nothing else going on too crazy in our lives but looking for jobs.

then at least at the end of this mess we can have something to show for it. i might have been unemployed and struggling, but now i am lean, sexy and my thinest.

i was hoping we could use this thread to help encourage eachother, tell eachother what workouts we are doing, share successes, share food ideas, and talk about goals and results.

this may be kind of off topic for this forum, but i would love tons of buddies to keep us motivated and to share stories and results with...

i'll go first...

i weighed 158 when i started this workout and since looking for a job have dropped 3 pounds and try to workout everyday. i walk/ run and do a lot of pilates with exercise band. i am hoping to eventually get down to 124 maybe by november or december, but as long as it is healthy and consistent, i don't care when it comes off by.

i'll keep you posted:: i hope others will share with me too:bowingpur:bow:

Today I went to the Philadelphia zoo and walked around all day, I am counting that as my exercise for the day, but I am also way below my calories for the day, so I am doing good, weigh in is soon, its hump day weds!!...

Oh yeah Wisdom teeth out Friday...this should be fun trying to balance losing weight with that experience....GOODLUCK EVERYONE KEEP IT UP!

Well while you may not be able to exercise during that time chances are you won't be eating very much so that might help you out there :-p (Just teasing I am not saying people should not eat to loose weight...just in case anyone doesn't like my comment ha) Hope you recover easily from it!

haha I know what you mean and its for real, I can't eat solid foods for 5-7 days because of how difficult my procedure is. I bought slim fast so I can get more nutrition than I will be able to eat. I wil def update you guys on what is going on with that. I need to do a last day workout today. GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE!

Today I was very blue for several reasons, but you know, I did my bike and little free weights (they only weigh two pounds each, but I hold them both with one hand, so it's a four pound lift). After that I just put in a movie and went with it. Tomorrow is another day. I am always glad that I did the exercise, and I can't believe I did it today the way I felt, but I thought of you guys :) so there ya go! K. Morris I wish you the best on your teeth extractions. Take it easy.

today i am also feeling a little dissapointed...i caved in and weighed myself...i was going to do it this sunday but was anxious to see my total weight loss...ive been working out for a month now...and total wt loss has only been TWO pounds!!!!!! geez i could probably loose that without actually having to workout! i have been strict w/my workouts 4x week cardio for an hour...i do spinning and zuma.....

r u changing your diet? u should measure yourself with a tape measurer. Sometime we lose inches and not weight, becuase of muscle gain, hopefully this will pleasantly surprise you. Keep with it....I know you can do this!..

Goodjob blindsided and thank you for the encouragement, my face is still totally numb, once I went under, they gave me long lasting local anethesia last up to 8 hours, so I can't feel my face....haha I guess I should be thankful, I don't feel too bad but do feel kind of sick to me stomach just a little bit. I miss working out already and solid foods and it hasn't even been 6 hours!....greeaat!

Everyone stick with this....we will definitely be happy with our decisions once we reach our goals....I unoffically weighed myself this morning, weigh in is Sunday now.....and I lost 1 pound this week, not too bad.

Total weight loss= 12 pounds

starting weight 158

current weight 146

I am very proud but am not stopping here, I am so excitied to get into the 130's not too far away. I can do this and you can too, the more you are stuggling the more you should be posting we can help you, YOU CAN DO THIS!!!...

Make a goal for yourself for this week and stick to it....examples

no soda

drink 8 glasses of water

no desserts

a certain calorie range

at least 30 mins of cardio 3x this week, and strength 1-2x days a week

not snacking past 8pm

Just invision what you want and think of what you need to do to get there. This is a difficult journey and we are less than 24% of the world trying to better ourselves, take pride in that and yourself and give it your all.

GOODLUCK ALL!!!

Please let us know how you are doing, what you ate, what exercise you did, whether you are having a good day/bad day, or anything you feel you want to share, thanks all for the support and friendship!

k.morris you are so sweet, you sure know how to keep us motivated. I will buy a tape measurer today and measure myself, i dont know what my measurements were before i started to work out so i will start this month and measure myself next month...now in regards to my diet...mmm ya i'm not that good w/it, i allow myself to eat anything but i only eat like 2x a day AND in moderation...i would like to eat healthier like chicken breats, veggies, fish, but its hard because i have a 2month old baby and its hard for me to actually plan out a healthy meal and cook it...so i end up making something that is quick (sandwich, pizza pockets, chips) i dont drink soda, if i do i drink diet soda and low calorie minute maid...I WILL continue to work out...i want to get into the 120's and will not stop until i get there!! good luck to you all ladies with your workouts!

k morris...what type of protein do you eat?? do you eat lots of chicken breats??? i need to eat more protein, any ideas, i want it to be healthy though...oh ya and EASY to cook:)

I just wrote a whole answer to you and it got erased....I hate it when that happen so a shorter happier version.....

Chicken Breast is like my life, have to zest it up though, in salads, stir fries, add a little olive oil extra light with some veggies and chicken in pan awesome, whole wheat pasta with sauteed mushrooms and chicken breats awesome and good for you, quesidillas, get 2 soft taco shells lay one on pan add chicken(mostly), low fat cheese or in moderation, and whatever veggies you have green peppers, onions or etc, then put top soft shell taco on and cook on low to melt....add salsa and have a fast and deliciously healthy mexican dinner....Protein and low calories.

beans

Nuts-Almonds are great!

PROTEIN SHAKES if you are really pressed for time and need protein good option

Turkey

Cheese in moderation because high in fat, milk same thing though

I think you really got the exercise thing down, now all you need to do it add the second step, which is diet, you can enjoy yourself in moderation, but need to be eating 3 healthy meals a day and at least 2-3 snacks, if healthy choices this will help you metabolism big time. I hope this isn't too harsh I just know you can do this, and now that you have exercising down, you need to work on this too, it will make you inches and weight come off so much easier.

I know it won't always be easy, and with the baby, I can't relate, but know it must be hard, you give everythig you have to your baby as you should, but there are fast and easy healthy ways to focus on yourself and although this plan all at much may be too much, but try replacing one meal at a time and gradually getting it. I know you can do this, you just need to focus on this now.

GOODLUCK...........THANKS FOR JOINING THIS THREAD...you motivate me more than you know too.....YOU ALL DO!!!.........THANKS keep the post coming I love them and I think they really help all of us

Thanks! I am really excitied about this journey and I know it is life long, I am so excitied to reach my goals, and let everyone know that this is possible. We can and will do this and we will do it right. It is a difficult journey, and we will mess up once in a while, and some days we will treat ourselves, and all of that stuff is just fine because we will get there no doubt about that.

Hey friends I'm three for three this week re my routines. Also, I'm getting three horrible rooms ready to paint, so I've been up and down the ladder for a couple days. OMG the cobwebs! Jeez, I have no idea what I weigh, since I don't have a scale and only get to weigh periodically. I did give up the DQ pecan mudslides. After I looked them up online I think I only had one more. Usually now I get a kids cone. You who are drinking your water...I commend you! I hate the stuff! I brew fresh decaf tea with distilled water. Even then, I could never get in eight glasses. I know it would be better for me if I drank more. I drink at least one glass of skim milk too. Also I've been trying to eat more fresh fruit and veggies. Yum, garden tomatos! Keep it up everyone, and continued good luck.

good job blindsided for the three for three!! I missed yesterday's workout but did go today and did an hour...had raisin bran for dinner with skim milk..that is pretty good right??

yeah that is good.....I love eating cereal for dinner when I don't have anything healthy for dinner in my house, it will be always lower in calories than most things you can find in your kitchen, besides side salads. AWESOME JOB!

Today I went for a 60 minute walk, slower than normal because it was the first time I worked out since I got my wisdom teeth out. I am so proud of everyone here and hope we will all keep it up!
