NMC Test Online

Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

I was interviewed first week of April this year for Med-Surg Ward for Royal London, though we were informed that the ward designation may change depending on what the hospital needs at the time of deployment.

When were you interviewed and have they issued your COS yet?

I just recently had my interview via Skype and got the offer for a post for Barts Heart Centre. I am waiting for further correspondence with the recruitment department at Barts as to what would be the next step into processing for my CoS.

Do you have your CoS? And your NMC DL?

Congratulations for passing the interview!

Still waiting for my DL. My documents were just uploaded on my NMC portal last week. I'm not certain if they issue COSs even if one doesn't have a DL yet.

Thanks!

When did you send your documents? I just sent my pack last week. How would you know that your application is on queue?

hi! Thanks for the info. Btw. Im kinda curious for those who are already in the UK right now studying for the OSCE, did your hospital employer provided you with free book copies of the Royal Marsden or its something that you need to buy there since sometimes the pdf version wont suffice when reviewing. I find it somehow different reviewing from an actual book than reading it from a screen.

No they don't provide free copies, but you should be able to borrow a copy from any Trust library fairly easily. Once you get a list of text references from Northampton, the library stockpiles many of those useful texts as well.

Hi,

I'm kinda new here. Im about to take my CBT next week.I somehow finished reading the Royal Marsden and is confuse with the other review materials. Anyone here who has taken it and pass? I'd like to know if the NMC blueprint along with its vague and most often broken links were really helpful with the review and the questions in the test?:shy:

Hi Sofiebear! I cannot speak for everyone...but I'm betting that there are a lot of people that periodically visit this thread that have not taken the CBT yet (like myself, although I take it in 2 days :nailbiting:). However, they are most likely in the "background" because this thread is now more towards the assessment stage and questions for after one passes the CBT.

Personally I am reviewing the Royal Marsden at the moment and a lot of publications from the NMC website as well as from the NICE website and other information that I found on the web. I do have the NMC blueprint and I have been looking at it .... but it is difficult to navigate, so proceed at you own risk! haha. Some of the links are actually helpful if you have the time to see which ones work...

However, if you have any other questions about reviewing for the CBT exam, please feel free to post them. I will gladly help if I can! Good Luck!

I am 100% sure that Barts/ASC won't file a COS for you unless you get your DL. But those who got theirs weren't exempt from the frustration as well as I believe Barts didn't file their COS as well.

Question is, how long should we wait for the COS and Visa application? I've talked to quite a few candidates who were hired by Barts last April and they are already toying with the idea of transferring to other agencies. I'm staying however. But the frustration is real. I have lots of friends who went to the UK and waited their DLs there while I am "stuck" here and waiting for a miracle.

I'm from Bart's as well for Royal London Hospital. That is so true, ASC cannot say how often Barts deploy nurses. The only information they did give us is that they will deploy the first batch sometime this September. Unlike those under Kingston who are deployed every month. Lucky them.

Hi, Cottntale32,

Check ur mail

Hello everyone. Processing of requirement assessments require 70days as NMC says, just wondering, is this 70 working days or 70days including weekends? Thank you

After almost 2 years since I started my NMC application, I got my DL last week!!! Patience is indeed a virtue!! I've got a dilemma though, I don't have my original registration certificates from Egypt (worked there for 2 years) as this was kept by my employer and refuses to give me the original, and I do believe that the original is necessary during Identity checks.

hi goodluck on your exam, will be taking mine next month.

Passed the CBT!!! Wwwwhhheeewwwwww! However, I'm going on holiday to Europe for about a month. So excited! How long does the "CBT pass" last for? Will I be able to start my assessment when I get back without problems?
