VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Deindi keji, did you receive anything yet? This wait is rediculous?

Congrats to all those that were accepted to VEEB and to those that were told to send in acceptance letters, DON'T GIVE UP! Anything can happen. Someone can change their mind, fail the bridge......anything....my class started with 206 people in 2007.....I know the anxiety will kill you but just hold on and be prepared to send the money to hold your seat ASAP!!!! Money talks. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and best of luck to everyone.

Hi Everyone,

I am a former VEEB student. I graduated in 2007. You have to wait for the acceptance letter which is sent to each student at the same time. Unless the student took the exam late. The two ladies that answer the phone are nasty and have always been nasty.

"The two ladies that answer the phone are nasty and have always been nasty."

So true....I wanted to write that but didn't want to make any prospective students feel bad.

Also msbruny, from what I'm reading on the threads, VEEB has changed. I remember getting my acceptance letter with my scores one week after testing...It was a rolling admission type situation. Now they just seem to have people waiting in the wings, which is so unfair.

Thanks Akinini, but I'm a little confused....you said "to those that were told to send in acceptance letters", i didn't know what that meant. Did you mean something else? Also, since I tested March 17th, do you think I will be put on a waiting list? Thanks so much!!!!

Glady17 i have not recieved anything i strongly believe we will be accepted

I'm sorry....I meant those that were told to send in REFERENCE letters

Did you get your results? Have you heard ANYTHING since March 17th?

Hi Akanini,

Thank you for responding. Yes, I did get my results and I passed and I handed in my references but I have not gotten my acceptance letter, so that's why I am worried, and when I call VEEB they are no help at all. All the lady told me was that I was not on the list for acceptance letters that were mailed out and when I told her the day I took the test she said " oh thats kind of late, but you should be getting something soon".....huh I'm confused:confused:.

Veeb has changed things, but for some reason it sounds like you MAY be on the waiting list because from March to now is quite a while. I would be hopeful because you sent in your reference letters so maybe they are just waiting for the Bridge Program.... I really don't know...BEST OF LUCK and BE HOPEFUL.

Thanks Akinini, I appreaciate it!!

hey i had a quick question to anyone who has already been in veeb. how does the finiacial aid process work?? bc they havent sent any info on the orientation or anything and i was just looking on the finacial aid website and it said the deadline for the 2010-2011 will be june 10 2010 so now im kind of worried bc im not sure what to do, i filled out the application but didnt submit it bc i dont want to mess anything up in case if veeb is supposed to do it for us. i really dont know whats going on.....

I am currently attending VEEB and all I can say is its a good school. I live in Brooklyn and I have a one year old, its going to be hard at first but if your studying you have no problem passing. The teachers are there to help you out and to be honest they can be tough but they want to see you pass. I have never had a problem with the exams because when you attend tutoring it helps a whole lot. I have a 92 average in almost every class and the only way that happened is because alot of the students formed study group and we helped each other. If you have strong will and power all of you will pass. If you need anymore help or info just drop me a message.

Bye

Hi TriniAngel,

I read most of your post and your information was so helpful! I just got accepted to VEEB for Sep 2010....I have a few questions about your transition after the LPN program......How long did it take for you to get a job? and are you a RN now? did you do the LPN-RN program.....what's the starting salary of a LPN now?? Hope this is not too many questions.....hoping to hear from you.
