I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)
I start June 29th! money will be tight for the next year but it will be worth it in the long run...I quit my full time(last day is june 11) to start school full time...so my fiance will be the bread winner in the family. I finished first quarter of nursing school in 2005 but quit due to personal reasons so I sorta know what to expect. time management will be different for me now that I have a 7 month old son. luckily, i don't have to take a&p because I took it already when i went for medical coding. desk jobs are not my thing...found out the hard way! good luck everyone!
I have 8 weeks until I am finally finished. it has been a really hard road. especially the first semester, which I think is the hardest due to the fact you are getting use to your instructors and their test questions. Once you get past this part things seem to fall into place. Just don't expect everything to be cleaned, supper on time, and dishes done as well as clothes washed on time. It takes alot to keep up but luckly I had a boyfriend who was wonderful and helped out. My kids are also not small. Long nites of studying that payed off due to the fact that i received all A's the first and second semester so we will see what this semester brings. just stay focused and devote the next year to class and little else and you will do fine. I am so excited to almost be through those first two semesters don't even bring bad memories at all. Soon my dream will come true of being a Nurse.
Good luck to you new students. I graduated last December and just got my license about 2 weeks ago, and have to find a job SOON!!! Study hard, and make sure when you are at clinical you let your nurse you are working with know that you want to do as much as you can, and you will learn LOTS and your nurses will love you....
