Holmes LPN program
I graduated from the Holmes LPN program in June. I had a 20 on the ACT. I was an alternate and I did get in. The program is absolutely the best. I cannot say enough good things about it. The instructors are truly amazing. Now, it was not easy by any stretch of the imagination but believe me it was so worth it. I feel like I am a good nurse and I was very well prepared when I graduated. Best of luck to you.

job duties of lpn
I am totally shocked by this thread. I am a new nurse so maybe I do not know all of the rules of the game yet, but....if you truly want to help people, shouldn't you want to help them all of the time and not when it is convenient or something that you want to do? You cannot help people unless you have their best interests at heart. Nursing is about compassion and not about likes and dislikes. Poop is a fact of life...I have a 2 year old who is potty training and he didn't quite make it earlier today and deciced to "paint" his bed with poo. Not pleasant to clean up but it must be done. So poo can rear its ugly head in the least expected place...like your home! With that said, I sincerely hope that you are not the nurse taking care of one of my family members any time in the future.

How long after you graduated did it take you to take the NCLEX-PN?
I graduated June 25th of this year, took the NCLEX on July 27 and had my licence in the mail on the 31st. It is such a relief to have that out of the way!

So how's everyone doing in their lpn program?
I am sitting here studying for finals. Maternal Child tomorrow and Psych on Tuesday. I graduate on Thursday. I am literally amazed that I did this. I am 41 years old with a 2 year old and a wonderful husband who have gotten me through this. I will forever be grateful for everything that they have given up so that I could follow my dream. This has truly been the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. I have always been a go getter but I had no idea what nursing school could do to a person. I wish everyone out there the best of luck and I hope that when you get to your graduation day that you have the same wonderful feeling of accomplishment that I have tonight!
