New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)

Published

I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)

Hello everyone! We finally started on Monday, April 27th. I was so nervous I got myself a cold sore from all the nerves and stress! The good thing was that the whole class was as nervous as I was. 2 of the girls said they were in the bathroom with diarrhea all weekend, one was in the bathroom throwing up the morning of the first day of class, and several of us had cold sores! I felt better just knowing that every one else was as nervous as I was! I am so excited and the nerves are starting to settle! I hope every one remembers that every one else is going to be just as nervous as you are. It really helps just knowing that! Good luck to every one!

I start classes on Monday May 4th and I'm extremely nervous. My class schedule is 8:30-2:30 for 4 days of the week and I'll be attending CES college in Glendale (saw another person in Glendale on this post).

I would appreciate any words of wisdom or advice and I had a few questions. Does anyone have a part time job while in school? I am considering getting one since classes are not like a full work schedule.

Also for those who have kids, I am contemplating having my first child to coincide with the end of school. Do you think that's crazy and should I wait until I have a job? I'm really torn on this.

Hi shawna2bnurse...I noticed you said you'd be attending ttc of newbern... I live in Troy and I hope to start there in Sept. I will be taking the NET test next week. I really hope to get in! Was the test hard for you?

I start lpn school may 4th. Excited and nervous at the same time. I will be attending school in miami fl. Anyone in that area.

I don't start LVN school until July 27th and I wish that time was here now!! I'm too excited and I want to start now! LOL!

The Net wasn't bad. I studied alot for it. I made a 100 in the Math. The reading was the harder part for me. Make sure you can do the math cause that can save your butt on the reading part. I read all the time but it was like they tried to trick you. lol I couldn't worry to much. If you study you will do fine. If you need assistance with paying go to the WIA office. They really helped me out.

Well in 2 days I start nursing school! I can't believe its finally here, I have been waiting to start since I found out in Nov I passed the NET! Monday can't be soon enough....I'm so nervous, my stomach is in a ball of knots!!!!

Yippy! You are starting on Monday. Me too. I'm so happy I can bust. It is still like a dream for me. I hope that your first day totally rocks! *sprinkles nursing dust*

I started my first semester this past Wednesday..... the semesters broken up into part a and part b, so instead of each class being 16 weeks long, they are each 8 weeks - an accelerated schedule. Each class of mine is 4 hours long...and A&P and math are twice a week, and Patient Assessment once a week...so I'm "only" in school from 8:00 - 12:00 each day (except for lab day for A&P)...and yes, we are covering the entire book in A&P and Patient Assesment.....it's a lot to cover each day, but I get the afternoons for studying...yay!!!

hi i am very excited i am starting the vn program june 1st i already did the orientation , bought the books and the uniforms. and i am taking ther CPR class tomorrow. i cant wait and i am also very nervous.

I start May 5th!!:yeah:

Specializes in psych.

Just finished my first day at Tennessee Technology. We have a class of 50-whew! The instructors seem very good. We have our first test in Success in Practical Nursing on Thursday, and the first A&P test on Monday, then 1 or 2 tests per week after that. The A&P is much more of an overview than the RN prerequisite A&P 1 and 2 I just finished (thank heavens!) and the other class looks pretty interesting.
