  1. I have found the practice exams to be very helpful. There were even some of the questions on the exam from the practice exams. I just took health safety and only scored a 69 and a 73 on the practice exams but got an actual A on the regular exam!!
  2. I just took health safety a few days ago. I got a 69% on practice exam a and then 73% on practice exam b. Somehow I managed to get an A on the actual health safety exam!! I'm not sure how. It wasn't too bad though. I just really paid attention to the rationales and also concentrated on Biological safety and psychological safety. These are the 2 areas that give students the most trouble. Good Luck!! I'm sure you will do great. Now I'm studying for chronicity!!
  3. Hi, I am a current student in the BMH LPN program. They are testing prospective students this week and next week for the October class. They use the CAT (California achievement test) for admission. Last I heard, the hospital was not offering any scholarships for this upcoming class so you have to pay the tuition yourself. Good luck.
  4. Hello everyone! We finally started on Monday, April 27th. I was so nervous I got myself a cold sore from all the nerves and stress! The good thing was that the whole class was as nervous as I was. 2 of the girls said they were in the bathroom with diarrhea all weekend, one was in the bathroom throwing up the morning of the first day of class, and several of us had cold sores! I felt better just knowing that every one else was as nervous as I was! I am so excited and the nerves are starting to settle! I hope every one remembers that every one else is going to be just as nervous as you are. It really helps just knowing that! Good luck to every one! Cindy
  5. Oh, great. I'm really anxious to get started. Less than a week to go now! Are you ready for it?
  6. Thank you! I'm looking really forward to it!!
  7. The next one starts in October and they have orientation in July for it. Start checking their website around the middle to end of June to make sure you get to the orientation. It's definitely too late to get into this one. They had orientation back in January and then we had to test, interview, and pass a math test. There were 217 applicants for 22 openings so make sure you study for the CAT test so that you can score high on it. I got a study guide for it on the internet and scored really well. Good luck!!
  8. I am starting the BMH LPN program on April 27th. I was just wondering if any one else is planning on going there as well. We could chat a little before the program starts! I am sooooo excited I need someone to share it with!
  9. I think that Tennessee Tech Center and Blount Memorial Hospital have the only LPN programs in East Tennessee. I just got accepted into BMH's LPN program, which starts later this month. They had over 200 applicants for 22 openings though so there is a lot of competition. They said that the next class would start in October and testing would start sometime in July so you should go to the hospital's website and they might have the info there. I heard it is a really good program. I hope so anyway. The tuition is $4600 for the 11 month program and they do offer some scholarships but I didn't get one. Anyway, good luck to you.
  10. Yay to all of us! I start on April 27th! I am so excited and nervous as well! This will be a good supportive site for all of us. Great idea. I'll keep you posted once I start.
  11. Congratulations! I am sure we will do great if we are focused and determined! Good luck to you!!
  12. Thanks for the advice. I'll try to relax until then. I know I'm going to be super busy between school and work. :)
  13. Hello all, I've been lurking around this website for quite some time and this morning I got that much anticipated phone call that I've been waiting for! I was accepted into an LPN program! I'm so excited. I was just wondering if any one else has recently been accepted, what to expect, any advise would be much appreciated! I can't wait to start! April 27th is day one! I can't believe I got in! Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom. I'm looking forward to getting to know my fellow LPN students. Cindy
