New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)

Published

I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)

I am trying to get into ttc newbern, and I am scheduled to I take the NET on SAT. The lady at the office today almost seemed as if she were trying to talk me out of going by telling me how hard and fast-paced their program is! Can you tell me if they offer skirt scrubs for their uniforms? thanks

My first day of lpn school was yesterday may 4th. WE have 21 students in our class. We signed paper, got our syllabus and talk about the program. Today we start class work. The first part of the program is the core.

I start in September.

Just started on Monday...100 people in my class! They have split us up in 2 groups, and they bring us back together for level 2...I'm pretty sure because people will drop like crazy! School is nuts....we have tests pretty much everyday, I have so much to learn. I get home at 3:30 relax, start dinner at 4:30 eat with my husband, and study from 6-11! I don't know what I would do if I had a job or kids!!!

Orientation is may 07 and so is the first day :D im so excited.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone and congrats!!!

i have just been accepted to ctc in scranton, pa and i start on august 31st. i'm so excited. it's been 29 years since i left high school and wasn't sure i could do it but guess what??? we all can. i decided to take a phlebotomy course, accelerated, that has a huge portion of a&p. i'm doing great and this will give me a heads up for that section of nursing school.

if you want it bad enough you can do it. it will be a fun ride and i just can't wait to be a nurse :-)

good luck to everyone and let's keep each other posted as to how we are all doing.

Congratulations Kim. I start in August also. It has been almost 20 years since high school for me and I was second guessing my ability but just the fact that we were accepted to nursing school speaks volumes. We all Can do It!!!! I thought about taking the Phlebotomy class but i decided to do it at the end of nursing school. I wish now I had taken it this summer. Will you be taking A & P with your nursing classes? I will and I understand that is going to be hard but I know we can do it. I have given my husband the heads up that he is now going to be doing all the things that I used to do. Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers let me know how things are going.

I challenged the CNA test and took my CPR class. I still have to buy my supplies and will do that soon. Congrats again.

I have started a new job as a CNA over the summer and am contemplating keeping it during the program:confused::confused:, if it doesnt work, I'll drop it like a sack a of rocks. Anywho, besides that I'll be spending the summer getting my immunizations, physical, background check and yahdee yahdee yahda you guys all know the drill. I'm so excited:hpygrp: to finally be in the program after 2yrs of pre-reqs! I can't wait to get the 157lbs worth of books, the stethoscope, bp cuff, pen light, scissors, scrubs.. I dont care about the white scrubs, I'd wear a clown suit with a rainbow fro and a nose that goes "Honk honk!" at this point! It's so close! The program is finally almost here!!!!!!!!!!! WUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!! :stdnrsrck:
