Don't give up!! The one sure way to "fail" is to give up. And don't listen to anyone else. They are not YOU! You can do it. I too am a B and A student but I have a friend who has not done quite as well but she studied and I told her and she told herself that she could do it and she made the highest test grade of the class on one of the hardest test. You too can do it. Just read each question carefully and think like a nurse. But the most important advise I can give you is to pray.

Congrats thegiver, I wish you all the luck in the world. We can all make it if we work hard and don't give up on our dreams. I'm glad you joined us on this thread over here in the US.

Congratulations. let me know how things go. You will be starting a month before I will. I had a lot to do in order to keep my slot in the nursing school but I have it all done accept for my physical. I challenged the CNA test and took my CPR class. I still have to buy my supplies and will do that soon. Congrats again. leslie

Congratulations Kim. I start in August also. It has been almost 20 years since high school for me and I was second guessing my ability but just the fact that we were accepted to nursing school speaks volumes. We all Can do It!!!! I thought about taking the Phlebotomy class but i decided to do it at the end of nursing school. I wish now I had taken it this summer. Will you be taking A & P with your nursing classes? I will and I understand that is going to be hard but I know we can do it. I have given my husband the heads up that he is now going to be doing all the things that I used to do. Good luck. fwardlaw: I'm impatient too. My orientation is April 21st and I am about to explode with excitement. Did most of you take your A&P, and PSY ahead of time? I didn't and am going to have to take it along with the NUR courses. I am so worried about that and I am afraid my load is going to be too heavy to bear. I would like to know if any of you are in the same boat as I am. Just knowing that I am not alone will help. I am so excited about this new journey in my life and it has been a life long dream. to fwardlaw147 that is too funny about the underwear. i have actually planned a shopping spree for nothing but white underwear. isn't funny how our minds work. i just thought it was funny that someone else had the same thoughts as i did. too funny!

My letter came yesterday and I am IN!!!!!!!:yeah: Yeah, I'm so excited!!! I;m glad the wait is over and I'm just waiting to tell my husband. He has been on a retreat with no phones or cell phones. Hope you all get yours soon.:wink2:

I just got my letter in the mail today. I'm so excited!!!! And scared. I hope we can all share our stories and we walk this road together. I will start in the fall. Good luck to you all!

I'm not a nurse yet but Diet does need to be modified after surgery. I had my gall bladder removed and my symptoms have been so severe that the Dr. wrote a prescription. I wish someone had given me some post surgery diet education. I know where every bathroom is in my town and have frequented them all. And you are right that high fat foods trigger it. The Dr. told me that this was very normal after gall bladder surgery. He even said that it was abnormal for people not to have these side affects from the surgery. The Dr told me that bile is a natural laxative and now that I do not have the gall bladder to filter it that the bile just dumps right in and that is why the urge is so sudden and severe. Your rough draft sounds good to me and like I said before I wish i had had some diet education after my surgery. It would have saved me a lot of uncomfortable situations. Also I know many people who have had their gall bladder removed who have the same symptoms

I know!!! the wait is killing me. If I called the school as many times as I picked up the phone and thought about it then they would let me in just to get me off their backs. Ha Ha!

I was just wondering what you all think. I have applied to a LPN program and the addmision requirements as for a TEAS score of at least 40th percentile on all 4 subjects. I have taken my TEAS test and scored: Reading 92 Math 94 Science 97 English 92 I have only transferred an English in and had a "B" on it. Which gives me 3 more points in my ranking points. I have not taken Anatomy yet nor have I taken Psych. I am waiting to get my letter of acceptance or rejection. I kinda was wondering what you all may think.. Do I have a chance? It is killing me waiting and I know the mail man is tired of seeing me everyday. I think he feels threatened HA HA! And is it inappropriate to call the nursing dept to find out?

I'm not a nurse yet but I completely understand how you feel. God helped me to not only pass the TEAS test but to even get an opportunity to take it which was something the counselor said would be impossible for this year. I am awaiting the letter of acceptance or rejection. But I know that whatever the outcome is that God has my best interest at hand. Just like he did you. He is truly going to bless you for the praise you have given Him today. He is so worthy. I know there are many more blessings in your future. Remember what 1 Corinthians 2:9 says: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those you love Him." Congratulations on your new achievement.

I ahve applied to a nursing program and waiting to hear if I was accepted. I applied to the LPN program due to the fact that I need to begin working as soon as possible but I have every intention of going on and getting my RN and BSN. My question is am I making a wise choice by doing this or am I just wasting time. Please keep in mind that My family needs for me to beging work as soon as I can. You know how this economy is.
