does anybody know how much the starting lpn should be making an hour fresh out of school?

It dePends on where you work and where you live. Here in sc lpns make a decent amount in nursing homes $16-18/hr (that's around where I live). They make less in a hospital and less at a doctors office. A friends of mine works at an obgyn office and makes under $14/hr.

like the previous poster said, it depends on the job and the location. Here in chicago, LPNs start off $22-23 an hour in Long Term Care facilities, acute care LPNs which is somewhat rare in the Chicago area makes 17-19 an hour.

I live in California, close to San Francisco. LVN's here can start at about $20-22 per hour or more, depending on where you work.

I am a don in a ltc facility in Georgia we start lpns right out of school off at 12 per hour
