  1. 3 nights!! i have wrked sun-mon-tue for a few weeks now!! i love it!! Finishing up my last night now!! Then i am off all week!!
  2. I am a RN Charge nurse in a ltc facility and i so agree about med aides!! LPN's should be doing the work these underqualified people are doing what LPN's should be doing! My job is to moniter the 5 med aides we have and check there narcotic counts and mars and these people can screw up anything. Some of the other RNs just tell the QMA's not to even mess with the narcotics cause they always screw it up. I spend half of my shift fixing what mes aides mess up!
  3. I am a don in a ltc facility in Georgia we start lpns right out of school off at 12 per hour
  4. I am the director of nurses on night shift in a nursing home me and the day shift director get together one day a week and interview and hire. we train all our lpns for 2 weeks then they have 2 days of orientation and then they can have there own hall patients and med cart lol
  5. It may not help but I am a single daddy I have a 2 & 3 year old and work 7p-7a 3 nights a week. They stay with my mama and sleep while I work. I pick them up as soon as I get off and try to get some sleep before I got back to work it was hard at first but we have gotten used to it and now I would never go to day shift
  6. i am a don in a ltc facility and we are actually phasing out our lpns. we have been working five lpns a day/night to 100 patients. and we are now gonna be working five qma's and 2 rns around the clock. this is saving our system alot of money.
