Bay Area, CA
Graduated August '13
Passed NCLEX 1/25/14
Applied to over 120 jobs
Have ACLS, PALS, and NRP
STILL NO JOB!!!!
How about you??
I was working the day after I got licensed. It was an awful job and not in acute care. I quit with no job lined up and got hired again in 6 weeks at a less crazy job with a much better schedule where I am learning and that I enjoy but with low pay. My boss knows I don't plan to stay here forever and actually encourages me to apply to acute care positions. So gradually I am filling out applications and hopefully I will be in a better paying but equally nice job in 6-12 months.

-NJ-Graduated Rutgers in May 2014
-Passed boards August 1, 2014
-Applied to about 20-30 jobs at 2 hospitals and never received responses from either
-Went to a new grad RN open house at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick the second week of September and got offered an intern position on the Mother/Baby unit 2 weeks later!!! It's a 6-8 week unpaid internship but hopefully there's a job after!
I guess I should update this. The internship ended up falling through and after many many more applications and about a 4 month interviewing process I got a job on an ortho/stroke floor in south Jersey. I start tomorrow! :)
Dayton, OH here
graduated with my ADN 5/5/14
Took boards on 6/17/14
Started working 7/14/14 in one of the largest hospitals in town on a general surgery/urology floor.
prior to this, I was already working as an LPN on a skilled nursing unit at a LTC for three years so I worked there until the unit I precepted on officially offered me a job. I was promised a job when I finished my preceptorship in the end of April.
I found that alot of the students that graduated with me mostly had a hard time finding jobs because the hospitals around here want you to have your BSN, but now that they finally realized theres no way you can completely fill your hospital woth BSN nurses, they have finally started really hiring ADN nurses again.
Graduated in Dec 2014 (ADN)
Licensed Jan 22, 2015
I went on 3 interviews the following week, 2 in medsurg at 2 different hospitals and one in IMC at another hospital. I was offered one of the medsurg positions during the interview and the IMC position a week later.
I started work on 2/16/15, a little over 2 months last graduation.
