Southern Colorado.
Graduated May 10th, 2014, passed NCLEX June 13th, 2014. Was hired at the hospital in July, 2014, after getting an interview in June just after passing.
I applied for two months prior as an LPN to a good 75+ jobs, though, so it didn't just happen that quickly, haha. I also had a home health job prior to my hospital position, as well.
Graduated in May 2014, Went to Kent State in Ohio
NCLEX-RN on July 29th
Licensed for MI on July 31st.
First Job interview August 27th
Offered the position and accepted Aug 29th (on my BDAY, such a great BDAY present!)
I had put out A LOT of applications to numerous open jobs... the hospital I got the job from was the only one that I actually wanted to work at, it was my number one choice, so it did work out well.
Every other hospital wanted experience and a BSN degree.
I think it may be harder to find work after getting out of school than it was actually getting through school... the stress level is the same!
Happy hunting to everyone out there!!!! =)
Graduated May 2013, passed NCLEX July 2013, got my interview January 2014 and accepted my first position Feb 19, 2014.... and like @ColorfulStethoscope I also know this because I was offered my job on my birthday!
Applied for over 200 jobs in multiple states, was licensed in 3 states. I had 3 jobs interviews between January and February, one at my current job and 2 in Atlanta. I was offered my current job (obviously) and one of the jobs in Atlanta.
Houston, TX
Graduated with ADN: May 2014
Passed Nclex: July 9th 2014
Enrolled in RN-BSN program: August 2014
Offered my 1st Position: September 2014
Since i graduated with an ADN and no hospital experience i figured that it may take me a little longer to find a job (in comparison to the other new grads that i knew). I started applying for jobs EVERY day after i passed my Nclex and no one was calling me back at first. I REALLY wanted an New Grad RN Internship position to help me transition into the profession. In August 2014 i got called for 2 interviews (davita and a nursing home) but they did not work out. It was frustrating, but i kept faith and kept praying and in Sept i was called for an interview for a New Grad RN Internship position at a Hospital. I went through 2 interviews and was offered the position.
In my particular city there are so many nursing schools in the area so it is highly competitive for ADNs because they tend to go for BSN grads . My advice would be to enroll in an RN-BSN program after graduating
