  1. Graduated: August 2014 Passed NCLEX: September 2014 Job Offer: October 2014 Starting on monday!!!!
  2. Hello! I just graduated in August, and passed the NCLEX (1st try with ALL 265 questions!) on September 23rd. I have been in close contact with one of the nurse recruiters at one of the hospitals in my town. I applied for one position, interviewed, and got a call today that they selected.... ME! I am so happy and grateful for this oppurtunity! This position is a SWAT nurse position. I was given a brief explanation during the interview of what a SWAT nurse does. I'm still really nervous, I feel like I haven't gotten enough skills experience in nursing school. My question is, what IS a SWAT nurse? Anyone out there holding this title (or anyone for that matter!) that can give me some tips or words of advice? I'm super excited and super terrified! Thanks in advance!
  3. I'm rooting for you! Let us know how you did. :)
  4. So my kid's big toe was swollen and red. No big deal. But then it in a short time it got so swollen it was hard! I brought her to the E.R immediately. I was running through all kinds of scenarios of what is going on, and what could happen. Definitely an infection, but thinking what if its so bad it causes cellular death and necrosis takes over her toe or foot! My paranoia actually paid off, the Dr said she has cellulitis, and the infection was already causing streaking up to her ankle. Of course now I am thinking she could go into sepsis or it can travel to her heart, and all kind of things. Anyone else experiencing this after staring nursing school? This is only my first semester!! I feel like I will be diagnosing everyone now!
  5. I will just keep it to myself to avoid those awkward moments. It sucks though, I'm super excited to have a good grade and I get treated like I'm bragging! I'll keep the "bragging" to my family and friends :)
  6. So after every exam, everyone starts the whole "how did you do?" I have gotten three A's and a B so far. Today after my third A, we did the whole routine of asking how you did. So pretty much everyone knows I got good grades. Some people act a little funny towards me afterwards, like I've done something wrong. Anyone else having issues like this? I think I'm just going to tell people I passed, it's irritating when they get all ***** about my good grades, and their mediocre ones.
