New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi erika please see my previous post regarding the accreditation status of ETEA. :)

I used a visa debit card. Payment details should have been provided in the AGOS-40 form.

Hello Shaneyney. Any news from LTU regarding your application? Have you tried calling or perhaps sending eMail for follow up?

TIA! God Bless... :-)

maybe they did enroll in a university and apply for recognition of prior learning. RPL could make your 3 year study to a year in half or 2 year study of nursing.... but it will cost you more to study as a international student.

hope it helps

-so what is your own suggestion or idea?i need to know the possibilities especially in my situation...How much will it cost?

honestly,it is very difficult to land a job here in the US even a caregiving job..I'm dying to go home right now and find another way for me to start a new life..

Hi isingrn, were you able to get thru immigration with your one way ticket? i am just curious because i am due for my bp at alpine health this coming august and waiting for my 456 visa...still havent decided whether t book a oneway or a return. any advice will be appreciated!

Hi Arenlima!

My friend who just finished his BP in College of Nursing said if you can find an employer before your 3 mos expires and he will lodge your 457 visa immediately even 10 days before your 3 mos expires it is legal to stay in Australia. The thing is you have to finished your BP early to find an employer. He finished his in 2 mos. He found an employer (good for him) and currently waiting for his 457. He will go home to have a vacation because before he left for Australia he booked a return flight. He says it is such a waste if he won't use it. His other friend opted to stay in Australia. I think it is wise to booked return tickets. You will never know what will happen. Better to have Plan B. I know it is costly but just think of the wages you will earn when your a registered nurse in Australia and working in a hospital....cheers!

Thank you Frozen Fire!i am quite new to this forum. I would like to know if anyone here will be attending BP at Alpine Health Victoria August intake. Thanks also to the forum members... loads and loads of useful info!

Hi Shaneyney! Glad to know you have already received an offer at LTU. Kudos!:yeah: I'm still waiting for my LOE from APHRA-VIC and thinking ahead of which university I would choose later on. Do you have any idea about Deakin University? I'm also considering to enroll there. Your opinion is very much appreciated..:)
