Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello. to those who applied with AHPRA VIC, how many days or weeks do they usually notify an applicant when the received the documents? I sent mine last June 30 but they haven't confirmed receipt of my documents. Thank you[hi there, usually Ahpra send an email upon receiving your application, so just give it a week or so then if no emails in 2 weeks you may lodge in a service request in ahpra website./QUOTE]
Hi everyone!
Im registered nurse since 2009 and had my clinical experience till jan 2011. But my father who was in Perth and luckily got his Permanent Residency. Because of that and right away, We applied for our Family visa my Mom for her spouse visa attached with Us as their children. Btw, I'm already 23y/o but since then, according to the australian immigration they allowed until 25y/o with met requirements. like I'm still dependent child with my father, still studying full time for my 18units needed for teaching and not engaging to any paid work. I'm still praying, hoping and cross-fingered to grant our visa. We lodged our application last april 16, 2012. Moreover, its beneficial if you are Permanent resident holder. So I pursued and grab this opportunity even if I waited for so long. If i got my visa, Im planning to study a Conversion Program in Perth that need to take for 1year and enable to be an Aus RN.
Does anyone here who has the same situation like me? Who waited for their parent sponsor in Australia as immigrant?
Because i want to know if their someone here like me waiting in vain just to be grant her dream VISA

If you are hoping for cheaper university fees as a pr and payment from centrelink - there is a waiting period of 2 years- from the date of lodgment of pr visa,, before you can apply. You will still need to pass IELTS as well to become a Registered nurse in Australia.
Good luck with your application, according to DIAC family visa's are capped and there is a waiting list.
