Hello. to those who applied with AHPRA VIC, how many days or weeks do they usually notify an applicant when the received the documents? I sent mine last June 30 but they haven't confirmed receipt of my documents. Thank you.

i did my bp with them last oct 2011. quite easy. 2 of us that did our placement in a hospital outside sydney got offered jobs after the bp by the same hospital. there are 6 etea students doing their placement in our hospital right now. all of them got offered jobs under the new grad program after they get their rn license. 3 have accepted the job offers. the rest have other plans of their own. i will be finished with my new grad program this november. the hospital has promised to renew my contract and they will put me in the icu as what i have requested. i have been working here for almost 6 months already and i have no regrets. and the hospital has promised to start processing my pr after 6 months. couldn't ask for more from them. i have even applied for a 2 day study leave end of this month for a short course offered in sydney. the hospital not only paid for my 2 days, they even shouldered my tuition fee.

They treated me just like a new graduate from Australia. Their new graduate program is designed for new nurses coming to work in the hospital. We have our mentors that will be our nursing buddies. We have competencies to accomplish in different wards of the hospital. We are rotated to all the different departments to help us get the feel of each ward. As the hospital doesnt have an ER, the closest among the departments to my area of previous exposure in the Phils is the critical care unit and cardiac ward. So that's where I have requested to be permanently assigned to.

Nurses under this program are full fledged RN's. So, we are paid the same as a level 1 staff nurse. The more experience we have here in Australia and the more post-graduate courses we undertake determines our increase in salary. Incidentally, the collective bargaining agreement of our nursing union is due for renewal next month. That will be an opportunity for another salary increase as well as other non-wage benefits.

As I am working in a private hospital, we have slightly different salaries as well as working conditions compared to those working in the public hospitals. So, I can only tell you about the situation specific to my workplace. Hope I have helped you out a bit in your query. :thankya:

And by the way, I'm on a Business Long Stay visa (457)

Sorry, dont have any info regarding status of accreditation of ETEA. Best for you to inquire directly from them or AHPRA. Best to get the truth from the horse's mouth I suppose. I dont want to give you hearsay information. :o

Hi, i received a snail mail from CON just today. It says: your application has been received and you have been placed on the waiting list for the first available program. Please understand participant numbers for each program are limited so placement into your chosen program may not be possible. Confirmation of you being placed into a program will be forwarded to you by mail.

Anybody who also received the same letter? What can you say about this?

How many weeks did you wait before your passport arrived?or what i mean to say is your visa..? after the medicals? how many weeks all in all? thanks... yes, it's ok for that.. just wait for it.

after the via center, I got my passport back after a week... then I did my medicals 2 weeks ago, but still no news regarding the visa... how will I know if I have a visa already? through email? letter? do I have to submit my passport to the embassy?

Thanks!!
