New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

How many weeks did you wait before your passport arrived?or what i mean to say is your visa..? after the medicals? how many weeks all in all? thanks... yes, it's ok for that.. just wait for it.

Hi shaneneo!

I got an email from INHA they are asking me for visa updates already. I still have no visa.. are you done with the immunization requirements? where did you have your serology tests done? do you have a visa already? I'm getting nervous... :(

Hi everyone,

I just got the decision letter of AHPRA through email a couple of days ago so I'm now looking for BP schools. anyone here who went/will be going to IHNA or Mercy Health? I'm really hoping to get into a program around September or October this year.

How long do applications usually take from the time you submit your documents to the time you're given an offer letter? If I understand it correctly, this is needed before once can lodge a visa application, right? And how did you pay for your school fees? I dont have an Australian bank account, and I cant use my credit card for the tuition fee.

Hope you can share your experiences. Thank you, as always!

dear redhotchilioreo,

been trying to send you a message.. your inbox is full

Dear friends,

Will they contact the employer for reference?

It depends because i know someone who's employers have been contacted.

when did you submit your visa application? and when did they received it? Did they sent you an acknowledgement receipt of you visa application? How many days already since you lodge your application to the embassy? Usually it will take 1 month to process it , depending your circumstances. As far as I know, if your intake in IHNA is august// They will send your visa 2 weeks before your commencement date... When exactly is your intake? Good Luck...

hey patringrn!

we're on the same boat. we did the medicals within the same week, June 27 to be exact. The results of the medicals have been forwarded a week after, July 5. And it's been a week since embassy got our medical results. i really hope our visa will come out anytime next week.

I'll email IHNA next week to let them know about this.

Did you state in your visa app that you wanted to personally pick up your visa? Coz i did. and i never got my passport back.

have you booked a flight yet? I haven't. pm me :)

quick question..what should be stated in the ielts application and nbi clearance for internationally educated nurses overseas who will undergo bridging program/conversion- should it be:

a. to study abroad

b. for employment abroad

please reply here or pm me.. thanks!

i would like to ask the others :D

for other hopeful nurses aiming to work abroad..

kindly check the immigration site of uk & canada- it's closed..

but,

one can study in nz with a ph.d. at domestic rate!

=student visa w/ part-time right to work (20hrs/wk)

..

any insight about this plan?

what about the prospect of being a nz rn?would this route be easier knowing that almost all if not all schools/institutions are full for the bridging course..so while one is doing his phd at nz, he can work part time and set aside a few dollars for the bridging course..

does it mean that after 2 years, one will be able to apply as pr?or if not at least, increase his chance of being a nz resident then citizen (a few years after)..

another question..

how true that philman applicants are opted to pay for the loans from agfinance 3 months upon arrival in oz, ie, with or without work??

last question as of the moment..

is it that hard in finding an employer? what is the setup for international nurses after finishing the bp?

Hi 3739! I am bound for ACFE's September intake. Are we on the same batch?

I also have the same question about that personal insurance requirement. I used the site's search function and found some info posted by a forum member.

I have visited some of the links and I'm thinking of availing Worldcare Educover. If you find better health cover, let me know. Also, could you pm me your fb or ym. It would be nice to know somebody who is also going to ACFE.

For Australia-based insurances, I did some personal quoting for myself (applicable to 3 months 456 visa):

1. HBA - http://www.hba.com.au/public_insuran...verseas.action

Cheapest - Basic Standard Visitors Cover - $20.20 per week

2. MBF - Health Insurance - Health Cover - Health Fund - Bupa

Cheapest Health Insurance - Active Sports Saver (Basic Hospital Cover) - $20.65 fortnightly

3. OSHC - https://www.oshcworldcare.com.au/ - they refer you to certain links for non-student visa holders

a. http://www.overseasvisitors.com.au/d....asp?agent=eti - For Overseas Health Visitors Health Insurance

Cheapest Budget Overseas Visitors Cover - $241.70 for 3 months (you have to key-in your preferred cover so they can give you a quote)

b. https://www.oshcworldcare.com.au/educover/educover.aspx - health cover for international students and visitors

Cheapest Health Cover - $216 for 3 months (again you have to key-in your preferred cover to get a quote)

Again, this is just applicable to me :) Others can just refer to the sites above for their own reference.
