Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

TO: red_hot_chili_oreoI already passed the interview with ETEA. So I'm just waiting for the offer letter. Submitted my application to IHNA last week and they scheduled me for interview today. The interview was not easy nor hard. They asked me what management do we usually do for severe head injury, what's GCS, dementia and what do I do in resolving conflict among colleagues.

hi! do you have your offer letter now? how many days before u got it? is it thru mail or email?
Hello, anyone here who have taken their BP in ETEA? Could you please share your experience as to what the interview like? Ta!
hi! i had my phone interview with ETEA last july 10. she asked about uti and fracture and few things about myself and my work experiences. im waiting for my letter of offer from etea now.
I submitted my application last March 19, 2012. (my application was actually submitted by my agent) No response from them (CON) for two months, i guess. until my docs like my passport and police check got expired.. so i have to renew those and re-submit. i sent an email to CON addressed to *****, inquiring about the status of my application. and she replied me with this:
Please be advised that you are still on the list for the selection for the next program scheduled for September.
and this one too, after submitting my expired docs.
Hi Annabelle
Thanks for forwarding your updated police clearance. I am forwarding your email to ***** for a response.
You sent your app to CON in March? I sent mine in June so that means a lot of applicants on the waiting list are ahead of me like you. Did they charge you already? It kind of sucks to be waiting for so long without assurance that we'll get a slot for september ( it's full ) or january

Hi everyone, I am for the August 2012 IRON intake at the Australian Academy of Nursing (AAON). Is there anyone here doing the same intake as I am? I would love to hear from you guys. I am both very excited and highly anxious. There's barely two weeks left before I fly for Australia. I guess this feeling is just normal. I am flying by myself. I haven't met anyone who's doing the same August AAON intake yet. I hope I can meet someone here who's doing the same intake as I am before I go. It would be nice just to share thoughts and gather some emotional support from fellow bridging course students. :)

you are right. there is no assurance that we will be accepted by september.. we still have to wait. they told my agent that i will get the result by the end of august. dont have enough time to process my visa by then. my eligibility from ahpra will expire on oct 27. i need to have a letter of offer from bp schools asap so ican have it extended
hi! i was interviewed july 3 then got my offer last july 11. the offer was emailed to my agent. :)
wow. thanks for the info. so i'll have it probably next week.. :) my agent called etea and was told that the letter will be sent thru email. i though at first that it will be sent thru mail (snail) because they asked for my billing address during the interview.

End of August? Did you choose the sept intake or you are being moved because of the slot problem? You won't make it if they will only notify you by that time because of visa processing. I'm losing patience.

exactly. when i lodged my application, i was actually for the July intake at CON. but i encountered delays after submitting my papers to them. i heard that the slots are easily filled up because CON has cheaper tuition fees as compared to other BP schools. when i received that email from CON, stating that i still have to wait, i started applying for ETEA, and it was very fast. they called me few days after submitting my application. i was hesitant to apply there before, and my agent too, because its kinda expensive (about 16,000AUD) im just waiting for my letter of offer from them now.. i might as well pursue etea than wait for con.how about you? why dont you try ETEA?
