New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi kristine99! I am for the AAON August intake too. ;-)

hi! for those who will go to ETEA for their BP, do they require serology AFTER having all the vaccines except for dtap and MMR? im quite confused because in the immunizations form it says there that serology is required for hepa A, B and varicella. that would be too expensive to have the vaccines and serology at the same time.

exactly. when i lodged my application, i was actually for the July intake at CON. but i encountered delays after submitting my papers to them. i heard that the slots are easily filled up because CON has cheaper tuition fees as compared to other BP schools. when i received that email from CON, stating that i still have to wait, i started applying for ETEA, and it was very fast. they called me few days after submitting my application. i was hesitant to apply there before, and my agent too, because its kinda expensive (about 16,000AUD) im just waiting for my letter of offer from them now.. i might as well pursue etea than wait for con.how about you? why dont you try ETEA?

I can't because our house is in sydney and i can't afford to pay such TF. It will really cost me more money if i enroll somewhere else. Besides, i am not ready for interviews and i might get caught off guard since i was out of practice for 2 years now. What if you haven't answered their questions during your interview?

wow. thanks for the info. so i'll have it probably next week.. :) my agent called etea and was told that the letter will be sent thru email. i though at first that it will be sent thru mail (snail) because they asked for my billing address during the interview.

Hi! I got my Letter of Offer now! it was sent to my agent. I am for January 2013 intake.. yipee!!! :yeah:

hi there,

I need help. I would like to ask if the validity of Eligibility Letter for taking Bridging Program means "I have to FINISH the whole program before the expiration date"??? Or I should have at least enrolled on a program before the expiration?

Thank you very much for those who will reply.. :nurse:

Because mine will expire January 2013 and my case officer won't extend my eligibility letter if intake will be after the expiry date. So I'm taking the sept or October intake of etea. And I ask my case officer if it's alright if I finish my BP after expiry date. And answer is yes but not commence BP post expiry date. Just double check with your APHRA case officer to be xure before you pay for your tuition fee.

You have to finish the bridge course before the expiration date but I suggest you ask your case registration offer regarding this matter.

However, I think it may depend on where you lodged your papers.. Some states allow you to complete the course beyond the expiration date as long as it commences within the validity period and some don't. I know of people who lodged in Victoria and asked for extension as the completion dates of their BP course will go beyond the expiry date of their LOE, both of them were declined. I had mine in Qld and my LOE was only until June 2012 but I was able to have it extended until November 2012. :)

hi, ladydee-rn

i read in this forum that you were a student at unisa for the arntp. would you be so kind as to describe your experience and the outcome of it? i'm really interested in enrolling for the arntp and first hand feedback would be greatly appreciated. =)
